Confusion there as the ball sails long from the kickoff.

It ends up as a penalty to Parra but there was a moment where it looked like it may have been a drop out.

Parra start the set down their right edge before coming to Matterson on the third.

Nice hands from Makelim and Fuimaono down the right but the Storm defend well on the quick attack.

That brings up the last and Clay stabs in a ball to the posts. There is a deflection from a Melbourne hand and Jack Anderson finds himself in the right place and the right time to clean the ball up and score next to the posts.

Bit of luck there for Parra but we will take it given the ref is letting the Storm get away with murder in the ruck.

The conversion is successful.

Parra lead the Storm 22-4

Agree your next best 17 at the club should be reserve grade. If your 19 and better than the guy at Wenty you should be there. Tepai-Kelepi-Matterson should all be in the next 17 behind first grade

Not all players are physically ready for NSW cup. Look at matterson who is 20 this year, he struggle big time last year

Good charge from Raelli as Lavaka follows him up with a great carry of his own. Bush darts from dummy half but is pulled down from some alert markers.

Parra run the ball down the left edge short side but the pass from Matterson to Li is just off the mark. Li was into open space if the ball on was target there.

Scrum to the Storm near halfway.

Melbourne attack our left edge early in their set before some lazy marker defence gifts the Storm the simplest of tries.

We have been good a lazy dummy half try or two over the last month. Poor stuff after some solid defence.

The conversion is successful.

Melbourne trail Parra 10-22

Good heads up work from Tepu-Smith there as he cleans up a bad offload from the Storm on halfway.

Markus puts Moeroa into half a gap as the backrower steals 20m off the Storm.

The Eels spin the ball to the right as Matterson links up with Clay. The ball comes to Makelim who cuts out Fuimaono to get to Lavaka. Lavaka guns for the try line but can't get there. He throws the hail mary offload which is intercepted by a Melbourne defender.

Big penalty for Parra there.

The Storm had built some great pressure after a terrific kick but an offside marker early in the count has relieved all the pressure off the Eels.

Newbigging offloads and Clay takes the ball on the bounce near halfway. Anderson takes the next hit up before Matterson links up with Makelim on the second man play. The fullvack takes the tackle and Parra then work the ball to the right.

Clay drives the ball back to the posts along the ground but it is a poor kick. Dean Britt cleans it up without any troubles.

The Fox tackle count is all over the place...

Another superb kick from the Storm. Makelim is sweating on it to roll dead but it pulls up and he has to play at it. The chasers are on point and throw him dead in goals for a line drop out.

Oh dear, Muna or Raelli slips in the defensive line as the Storm prop cuts back to the posts. This opens up a line to the posts and Makelim is unable to stop him. He slams the ball down for a good try.

The conversion is successful.

Melbourne trail Parra 16-22

Quite literally a costly slip for the Eels as the Storm bring the lead back to a sole converted try.

Good set for the Storm as the rumble into our half. They bomb it on the last and look to go close to scoring but the ref has found an error in the take!

The Storm challenge the call.
