He does seem far too good for NYC (as opposed to just 'too good').

Bryce Cartwright is eligible for NYC again this year. I'm keen to see if he will make any appearances there, bearing in mind that he isn't as good as Kelepi Tanginoa, and probably not ready for first grade.

Yeh, but what would playing U20s rather than for Wenty do for him if he needs a bit of time? Not obvious to me that running around against blokes of variable size and class is what he would need.

Yes I agree wenty is better the u20 but I would just start him in u20 and go from there - his is only a kid no need to rush him especially after a year out. He is still growing into his body etc.

But he might kill it in his first game then for sure promote him to nsw cup / nrl straight away. Or it may take him a few games it get back into form which I would prefer him to do against kids rather than men, then promote him.

You don't seem to care about what Kelepi will do to those kids.

I remember Kelepi stopping Gallen with a ball and all tackle one on one on his goal line which stopped a certain try. He is special, at just 19 and after just a few games he was already the best 2nd rower at the club.

I don't know if I would be starting Kelepi in Round 1 for first grade. With the emergence of Kenny Edwards, and Manu Ma'u I don't think we would be losing too much by putting these two in. I'd like to see KT play a few games in Wenty so that he builds his confidence back up so he can last longer in first grade, don't want to see another Loko

in my 13 or so years of following the eels i cant remember a rookie being held out of first grade after performing well on his debut and the following games. Maybe a couple of game in wenty for match fitness but nothing more.

Tanginoa vs Cartwright

Tanginoa is deff more ready physically. But too say he is better isn't fair.Bryce has a lot more skill and more to his game, Tanginoa has more power.Im not sure if Bryce will have the power for first grade but if he does he could be special. Very Special!!
