Penrith complete a solid set with an attacking grubber that finds touch 10m out from our goal line.

Lavaka starts the set off with a great run from the scrum.

Moeroa draws a penalty which takes Parra to the Penrith 30m line.

We attack down the right again but this time opt to hit the blocker runner instead of spinning it wide.

Back to the right again as Folau is given little space to work with before an ordinary fifth tackle kick not only finds a Panther in the field of play but also picks up a penalty due to the catcher receiving attention in the air.

That will just about do it though as the siren rings out with Penrith rucking the ball out.

Half Time

Parra lead Penrith 16-8

Parra

Goodall 2
Lavaka 1

Davis 2/3

Penrith

Joshua Jay 1
Brent Naden 1

Scarlett (?) 0/2

Parra dominated the opening stanza, quickly racking up a sixteen point lead before multiple penalties saw Penrith claw their way back into the game.

Our left edge is looking strong with Matterson, Davis and Goodall all causing problems. Tanginoa also made some nice carries down the left early in the affair.

There was a shuffle that occurred when Lussick came onto the field at hooker. I'm almost certain Matterson, Clay and Pritchard were all on the field as well with Matterson becoming heavily involved in extended right edge moves. Pritchard possibly shifted back to lock but I missed it (somewhat busy having a chat regarding the camera matter) so if anyone else caught the exact shuffled line up than fire away.

Goodall is our NYC Semi. Sounds like another good game so far. Is he ready for the step up?

Hard for me to say, i haven't seen enough of him. He looks to be slow to turn and chase though. He is just so big.

Forty will give you a better rundown on him.

I like Goodall. Absolutely massive unit with good attacking footwork.

IBB&G already noted this slower defensive turning, which comes with nearly all big men but he is a good prospect.

Much like Semi, it wouldn't hurt him to have an extended path to first grade but physically I can't imagine him getting any more ready for the NRL.

Second half underway with Parra kicking off.

It is a shortish kickoff that finds that grass and skews away with an awkward bounce. Penrith end up with the ball with some luck from the bounce eventually.

Time off for an injured Panther but he is up and ready to play the ball although he has a pretty heavy limp.

Parra force a turnover down our left edge and we will play it from half way.

Attacking move to the right now as Matterson finds Clay who feeds it to a flying Kelepi (who has switched to the right). Kelepi shrugs off the initial defenders, turns and pops it to Clay on the wrap around who then lofts it nicely over the defence to Lavaka who beats three cover defenders to the try line to pick up his first try of the day.

Nice fluency in attack there.

Davis mistime his kick and it falls short and to the left of the posts.

Parra lead Penrith 20-8

44min gone.

Eh, that is somewhat frustrating to read.

Anyway, the chap I spoke to was quite friendly and told me to have a chat to the stadium management in the future.

The tigers first grade game is on now, If fox record it why not stream it from their web site or show it during the week instead of some other crappy sports...

Time off for another Panther as he is slow to get up from the contact.

Doesn't seem to be anything serious and the ref signals time back on.

Scarlett sends it high and Penrith contest the ball against Makelim. Corey doesn't come down with it but cleans it up none the less and makes a good 15m to boot.

Parra then made big metres down the their left before shifting the ball cross field to Folau. He has Lavaka in some space but opts to take it back in field.

Clay is caught on the last after snatching at the ball roughly four times.
