He doesn't look as fast in attack as he did last year. No doubt bulked up a bit to playing the forwards?

Doesn't look as fast as a young Hindy either. But hits harder. Both shoulders too but that left is awesome

Tanginoa is missing, likely due to the injury he sustained to his foot.

None of the changes are particularly exciting although Alec Bush makes his debut.

Odd that with Matterson and Pritchard out we are still going with two utilities on the bench. I suppose with a number 13 of Aloiai's size he can fill in elsewhere in the pack, leaving the spare hooker to play 'lock' if need be.

One of our weaker sides we've named this year. We lose a lot of size and skill with Matterson out but we lose even more with Daoud coming into the side. Every time I've seen this kid play he's been out of his depth. We're lucky we're playing the Sharks this week otherwise we'd be in hot water if we were to put this team out again.

Daoud also wrote the blurb on today's Joe Paulo video on the official site.

And does any merkin know how long Eric Aukofolau is out for?

Watched the highlights of the SG Ball prelim finals this morning. Brought back some old memories of playing armies my cousins in the red earth bush over the back of that stadium at St Marys.

I'm watching the HBO series The Pacific at the moment. It is markedly different from my experience of playing armies back in the day.

Finally plonked my arse in it, merkin.

Should be a nice evening for footy judging by the current weather.

Parra kick off to start the game..

The ball doesn't sail far and Cronulla have to race up to catch it.

The Sharks made good in roads in their first set and roll in a grubber on their last tackle.

Leva Li, who has shifted to the wing, retrieves the ball and makes a handful of meters before getting wrapped up 5m out.

Parra struggle for metres in their first set and Dockar-Clay puts in a very ordinary kick on the last, which gives the Sharks fantastic field position.

Cronulla work the ball down our right-edge for the first few tackles of their set before spinning it to the other edge. Parra mark up poorly and Davis allows his opposite to get on his outside and Cronulla crash over out wide.

The conversion is successful from out wide.

Cronulla lead Parra 6-0

5min gone.
