The better side lost thats for sure.

Think the thing that sticks in the memory is the poor second half. Realisically we dominated the first 40 minutes and they grabbed one against the run of play. We then dominated the last 5 minutes, having all the running. Think us dominating 45 minutes to them 35 suggests a 5 tries to 4 win is pretty accurate story of the game.

I think we relied on individual brilliance today as the halves were off their game. Great go forward from Kelepi set the platform and his injury in the second half was noticeable. Tepu smith ran well off the back of kelepi's carries although ball security is still an issue. Wasn't a great deal of punch off the bench. Moeroa and Davis couldn't seem to find the ball consistently and no doubt the absence of Makelim and Matterson made it difficult for these 2. Davis had a few good touches though and moeroa got some late.

Our kicking game today seemed to be a low point. Not sure if the first TV game gets in the heads of young players although we struggled to pin them back with kicks whether it be long for distance or short for attacking or repeat sets.

Or right edge defence struggled especially between ZDC and Folau, Lolo strolled over for two between them and another when pushing back inside because the defensive line didn't push up together.

Best for mine were Kelepi and Goodall. Both caused damage and ran strong and hard Lavaka was also good. Lussick gave a good spark at times although a couple of wrong options normally associated with first year NYC players need working on. Overall a win is a win and the boys can look forward to the week off sitting nicely in 2nd place.

These boys played on Monday night too and would have had less training and recovery sessions than the first grade team. Great win from the boys considering it was 2 vs 3 and that for the second week in a row we've gone into the game without a few of our better players in important positions.

Were the Dragons missing anyone of note?

Corey Makelim, Kaysa Pritchard and Ryan Matterson were all late withdrawals for us. Beyond missing their own considerable individual talent, the resulting reshuffle of the team hurt us even more.

their best player (a centre, forget his name) did a hammy in the warm up and they only had 3 on the bench

Newcastle were missing some of their big guns tonight and subsequently were the victims of a boil over at the hands of the lowly Sea Eagles to lose their first game of the season 40-38 (point a minute footy ).

I suppose that reinforces the significance of the efforts shown by our boys over the last two weeks where they overcame an ordinary team (Cronulla) and a heavyweight (St George) despite missing key personnel.

He can play. He's just not physical enough. If he was quicker he'd be big enough and if he was bigger he'd be quick enough. Will never play first grade.
