If Hayne plays 80 minutes at fullback then it is a desperation move, but then after the attitude we've shown since leading Penrith by three tries it would be understandable if he is feeling desperate. I reckon there's definitely an issue within the group.

Hang on...last week you reckoned it was the heat that caused the attitude, now you're saying it's another issue...

Where did I ever say the heat caused the attitude? I said the heat exacerbated the effects of our poor attitude. I reckon we might've held on and beat Penrith. And we might have only gotten done by 30 points in Brookvale if it was cooler.

Although the heat could have caused us to try to pace ourselves early on rather than going hard. There must be a reason we went away from what we know works.

Let's see you spin your way out of this one Pou. Lolz, this should be good.
I see no evidence of me saying the heat caused our attitude. Of course it contributed to our result though. Correlation is not causality. Attitude + heat = 54 nil

Or maybe it was just caused by having small forwards?

Pou you said a number of times the only difference with our performance was the heat. Your last quote that chimpmunk posted (post 1193) actually says "Though the heat was definitely responsible for our attitude..."

In the 2nd quote you say “the only difference has been the heat”. Doesn’t that mean all other things are equal, including attitude. The logical conclusion to that is that the heat caused our attitude.

Why did you leave off the rest of the quote? The bit that came next completely changed the context.

Because attitude as a variable is a given. It can even change during the course of a game.

The rest of it talks about the blowout. You still said the heat was definitely responsible for our attitude turning into a massive blow out. From that quote you explicitly said it was the heat that was responsible for our attitude. If it wasn't the heat responsible please tell us what you really meant was responsible for our attitude.

Are you serious? We had a poor attitude and the heat turned it into a blowout. Ergo, the heat was responsible for our attitude turning into a massive blowout.

As a few commentators have said, the heat compounds the effects of having no possession.
