Eels in the media

So they can’t change their opinions 12 or so months later?

Shouldn’t you be happy their current opinions align with yours or is there another underlying agenda against TCT?

You seem very against TCT who write and post for nil financial benefit for everyone to read and critique, rather then posting opinions on a forum?

In my opinion whether you agree with everything that is written, TCT is doing a great service by providing some inside info on how the eels operate. And considering how willing the eels are to help out, some bias can be expected!!

I don't have a clue who the guys at TCT are. Never met them. When they write honest material they do a decent job. But I hate that at times they make shit up ie. claiming that we have one of the best training facilities in the NRL. That was nowhere near accurate. And don't get me started on their off season love of AFL guy's methods and how good they thought he was.

I read that as saying the Rabbitohs will have their own section (the centre of excellence and back office), which will be co-located in this multi-use centre. They might even get away with the “open to the public” criteria by being housed in a community facility. Pretty clever if you ask me.
They needed a partner and had to appease Randwick CC.

We have the land, so we can spend $5/8m at the Sale Yards and have a private training facility. Alternatively you could partner up with NSW Gov but whilst the size will increase by 50%, you have to share those facilities. Are you actually better off ?

The Penrith COE isn’t all that big internally.

Also regarding the centre of excellence, it could be a bit challenging to get funding in the near future considering we are having a new stadium build!

We’re not having a stadium built. The NSW government is building a stadium that we will lease from them.

The club’s COE has nothing to do with the stadium. The Bulldogs and Roosters are receiving funding and look what’s happening to ANZ and Allianz.

Of course we aren’t but considering Dragons / manly / tigers have tried for years to getting funding for their stadiums while dogs / roosters / Souths all play out of a central stadium, politically it wouId look terrible eels “getting” a new stadium and funding for a COE!

Anything is about the politics!!

Personally, I think we are better off for a number of reasons. The Panthers COE may seem best practice now but once these new facilities are built, that may change. I actually think it adds value from a junior pathway to get the local schools and sports clubs more engaged with the club and its facilities.
Even if we decide that a similar sized facility is sufficient, think of the additional strength and rehab equipment we could purchase.

There’s talk of other NRL clubs playing from the WSS so I don’t think that’s really an issue.

Also, who else plays regularly out of Allianz?

If the Roosters play out of a central stadium (sharing with the Waratahs and Sydney FC) then so do we (sharing with the Wanderers)

True and are the Roosters getting funding for a COE (I have no idea)?

Gee look at all the politics involved in building that stadium

I'm not sure what you are asking here. The rebuild of Allianz is happening AND the Roosters are getting a centre of excellence.

So is the COE at the SFS? Is it solely for their use (also i could be totally wrong with all this so happy to be corrected)? Or are they sharing facilities such as the SFS pool/spa and gym along with fields with the Waratahs / swans / Sydney FC?

It’s a bit easier to get funding with all those sides using it and across 4 sports!

The funding is solely for NRL clubs and what seems a loose community use. They won’t be sharing it with those other clubs and it might not even be located at Allianz, just like ours wouldn’t have been located at the stadium.

The Roosters centre of excellence will be at Moore Park and it will be theirs. The Waratahs newest facility is linked with UNSW at a different facility in Daceyville.

I imagine (but don't know for sure) that they might share a pool but that won't be part of the centre of excellence
