Mitchell Moses has paid tribute to his former club, the Wests Tigers, after confirming on Monday night that he's agreed on a lucrative contract extension at Parramatta.
Moses helped the Eels hang on for a gritty win on Easter Monday, with the Tigers consigned to their worst start to an
NRL season in the club's 24-year history, following a sixth straight defeat.
Moses turned down a big-money offer to return to the Tigers after agreeing on a new five-year deal with the Eels, reportedly worth about $6 million. Moses made his first grade debut for the Tigers, before leaving the club to join last season's beaten grand finalists, Parramatta, where he has become one of the game's premier halves.

Like Roosters and NSW captain James Tedesco, the Eels superstar went on to bigger and better things after getting his NRL start at the Tigers. Speaking after Monday's 28-22 win, Moses was quick to praise his former club for the role it played in the formative years of his NRL career.

"They gave me my debut. They kickstarted my career," Moses said. "I owe a lot to the club, they were very good to me. It's a bit weird playing them but I'm just happy we got a win."
On their quest to end a finals drought that has stretched more than a decade, the Tigers identified Moses as one of a number of halves targets over the past six months. The club made a multi-million dollar play to lure Moses back from 2024, with current Tigers halfback and good mate Luke Brooks ultimately failing in his pitch to lure Moses back to the club.
"I've spoken to him a couple times and told him what the vibe was like and how much it has changed - I've been selling the place to him," Brooks said in February. "I'm not too sure what his thoughts are, but I think he'd be a great addition to our side and I'd love to play with him again.
"I think when we came in (to the NRL) we were very young. We sort of spoke before about how we would like to have a chance to play together again."

Moses ultimately opted against a reunion at the Tigers before justifying his $6 million price tag on Monday by putting on a clinic against the Tigers. The Parramatta halfback finished with four try assists, 106 running metres, one line-break, one line-break assist and a staggering 526 kick metres to justify his new contract extension.
The Tigers enjoyed the weight of possession and territory and threatened to snatch victory from the Eels with three second-half tries to reduce a 16-point deficit to two late in the contest. An inexplicable knock-on from Charlie Staines off the restart allowed Maika Sivo to cross for a match-sealing try in the dying minutes for the Eels.

Moses admitted the Eels were somewhat fortunate to escape with the two points against a much improved, albeit still winless, Tigers. "It was a bit upsetting," he said.
"We were pretty much fully in control, 22-6 up and then had some silly errors and we just went away from playing footy. We need to fix that up."
Moses insisted there was no cause for concern for the Eels, who suffered tight losses to 2022 heavyweights Cronulla,
Melbourne and the Sydney Roosters earlier this season. "We've lost games before and played better (than against the Tigers)," he added.
"For the first five rounds, we've versed some really good footy sides and we've been in the games for the majority of the game. We've been working our backsides off for each other. It's good that we won (on Monday) and we can learn from the lessons like that, rather than losing and learning from those lessons."
