It is news in the world of News Ltd or Ben Fordham or Ray Hadley. But in the real world all tiers of government throw money around as sponsorships for a miriad of reasons. NT sponsor us for huge coin. NSW Gov throws huge cash at Wicked! Golf tournaments etc. Likewise Parramatta City Council want to promote their new tarted up CBD to the 25,000 game day mad merkins or people watching on the telly. Whoever said it’s lining the pockets of a rich club is a dick and is obviously looking for a headline, rather than looking at the business case.

Since when do journos report on how the government body come up with these numbers ? ^^^ It was reported above that it was a closed meeting, so someone ran to a reporter. This is stupid and no different to Bega council promoting their hood.
