Eels in the media

I'd say it's just a reaction to the absolute :poop: the squad dealt up last year, to miss the finals (after being grand finalists the season before)?

Maybe he's trying to motivate himself better, or motivate some of the other clowns that were below their best, or new/recent recruits or juniors that haven't played finals with us.

As i said months ago, we would be better off if this was a 3rd party sponsoring selected players to help our cap

Wouldn't you want high profile players representing you rather than we send some nuffies to promote the councils.

On the radio, they said the first year is actually sponsoring the wnrl eels team with some local activities and home game advertising at around $300k to 400k.

The lady said that gets them 2 home games with an average crowd attendence of 2000 people. Wow

Interesting proposition. There’s two pitfalls I can see but. First in terms of what council would be trying to get out of it, they would want a high profile player who also lives in their electorate. That’s probably not really an option.
Secondly and the more obvious one, this sponsorship is already a gray area in whether council should do it but at least it’s to an organisation in the electorate. If they were to change that to an individual, the auditor general would be all over it

Are you saying that I'm a lifter or a leaner ?
I think it should just be a rule in this thread, to avoid giving the muckrakers any more clicks, that one person (usually the person who finds the article) to copy and paste it here.

Yeah but that one was paywalled.

Hey I have a good idea. All you merkins should chip in so the mods have paid subscriptions to all publications. Then if I ever see an article like that, you'd get the full version in all its glory.

So that’s even worse

This doesn’t make sense. Are you going to cancel your subscription to WA Today because you were asked to copy the article into the thread? Why would you have one in the first place then?
