Eels in the media

All in all, when you look at how middle of the road all of our stats are we did very well to finish in the Top 4. Clearly, we are playing well together as a team and that is a good thing.

i've been thinking about it a bit over the offseason and i think us finishing top 4 was mainly due to the sharks losing a few games (and us going on a winning streak) leading into the finals

we had the worst for and against of any team in the top 8 if both teams were on equal points they would have dropped us down to 5th

During the regular season we played in seven games decided by 6 points or less, and we won six of them. So we were either clutch as f**k or a bit lucky. On a more granular scale (for-and-against) we certainly weren't a top four side.

Interesting point was the bit around the role of the middle forwards at the eels, and how BA pushes them hard however fans may not notice the effort/role during the game.

So many fans think high workrate players are 'just workers'. They were begging for us to rush a lazy giant like Meehan into the side. "We need more size!" ffs

Well, I mean...personally, I think we needed more size - but someone of Moeroa's or Alvaro's build and work-rate.

In fact, another Daniel Alvaro wouldn't go astray...kid is a machine.
