I'm not living in the past, I figure it's all about balance. JNR would be seen as a mentor for the youngin's. It would also soften the blow of being demoted considering he's contracted until the end of 2026.

I think the captain is mostly a mouthpiece to talk with refs, and to remind the team of the game plan.

It's certainly not a crucial role - not like in cricket, for example.
