I wasn’t talking about the Tits, normally a subject I’m interested in.

But Teddy is massively on the slide.
No, the list was ...

17. Iongi / Lomax
16. Weekes / Stewart
15. Bula / Mason
14. Kennedy / Ison / Dykes
13. Tracey / Taaffe
12. Gutho / Sloan
11. Clock-Stand / RTS
10. Hammer / Fuller
9. Mitchell / Gray
8. Teddy / Rugby Alphabet
7. Drinkwater / Chester
6. Walsh / Cobbo
5. Poga / Sharpe
4. Paps / Fa’alogo
3. Edwards / Lawrie
2. Kini / Brimson / Campbell
1. Turbo / Hoppa 5.0 / Koula

Sporting News Dot Com ranked all the fullbacks for the 2025 season.

17. Iongi / Lomax
16. Weekes / Stewart
15. Bula / Mason
14. Kennedy / Ison / Dykes
13. Tracey / Taaffe

They’ve tried to be controversial but also then tried to claim it’s about depth. merkin unless you playing Kini, Brimson & Campbell at fullback at the same time then depth is largely irrelevant.

So Hayne at his peak is only worthy of a spot as 18th man?? At his absolute peak he was possibly the greatest player to have played the game, certainly top 5, across all era's. Obviously didn't maintain it his whole career but as you qualified yourself, at his absolute Parra peak he is miles front of Gutho, Burt and Tahu at fullback/wing... Especially Tahu who didn't even play in that position for us from memory....
I put him at 18 as a bit of a stir, tbh 😂. At his peak, yes he gets in. On averages - maybe not so much.

Hayne was quite lazy for a significant part of his Eels career. He played his best footy in rep games, apart from that 10 game run in 2009. So picking him at 18 in a side like this might have been a good incentive to get him off the burgers, playstation and pornhub to deliver his best play consistently 😂.

No way Lomax is back up fullback. Joash Papalii. Would be the man. Maybe even have backups playing in their backup position in the 2s might be a nice trend to start at Our Eels.

As if he isn’t better than Conner Tracey.
This list is shit.

The only thing I agree with is the Eels being last.
Us being last makes sense if it’s Iongi in isolation but given it’s about depth, Lomax makes us better than Weekes/Stewart, possibly Tracey/Taaffe & Bula/Mason.
It’s a very ill conceived list

Maybe.
I don’t remember seeing Lomax play at fullback though. I think we are in such unknown territory at fullback next year that it’s hard to put us higher than anyone.

You're assuming that Iongi and Papalii can tackle. Can they ?

Why is that a hang up? You’re assuming Reece Walsh can tackle? Kaeo Kini is second coming of Trevor Gillmeister? Papenhuyzen doesn’t get trampled every now and then?
They’re fullbacks. Their most important defensive trait is telling other merkins who to tackle. Other than that if they are making more than half a dozen tackles in a game, then clearly there’s more than a few merkins in the frontline who also can’t tackle

Edwards at 3?

The incumbent Australian, and NSW fullback, is at 3?

Ok, then...list is now an obsolete joke.

I also love how ab old, slowing, aging Teddy is still in the top 8, according to these bozos.
Tedesco was awesome this year. He is still a much better player than Edwards. The Panthers fullback is perfect for them because they can hide his weaknesses; under the high ball and playmaking. Meanwhile his strength as a player (go forward) is exactly what their lightweight pack needs from their back three.

Teams have hidden weak defenders at fullback for decades. I’d say one of the reasons there hasn’t been an attempt to convert Drown to fullback is because his defence is too valuable up in the line.
