I am one of those dopes you so kindly refer to who wanted Fitzgerald gone and so voted for a bunch of guys who promised a way out of the mess that Fitzy and his desire to rule the world had created. When I realised the replacements weren't taking us to the "Promised Land" but rather to "Oz" where the Wizard hid behind a curtain and used smoke and mirrors to try and bamboozle us (the members) then at the first opportunity to vote again I used my power to vote for individuals that I felt had the best message for the future. I did this again 2 years later and if the current merkins don't prove it and keep my faith then they too won't get my vote in 12 months time.
As far as being a dope, mmm its actually called intelligence when you assess the candidates, their policies and make an informed decision at the polling booth. This isn't labor v liberal at the federal level mate where the stakes are somewhat higher if the voting masses make a mistake, its f**king football, a sport, a hobby, an obession for some sure, but ain't life or death, it ain't poverty or wealth, it's a game and if you think everybody that votes is as wrapped up as you in the politics of it, best you have a look at yourself and what you spend your energy on.
By the way, who did you vote for when it was time to kick Fitzgerald out in 2008?
