Question, has anyone seen highlights of both those matches that were linked to the investigations and if so, we're there moments of those highlights or the matches in general that struck you as odd? ...

If anyone has care to share it with me by PM and maybe we can compare notes...

The only possible match fixing scenario I can remember from that game is when Penis Terepo dropped the ball near our own line which allowed Hasson to kick ahead and score :sarcasm:

But as we know Peni has feet as hands and drops the ball more often than not.

I'm a fan of dick hands... He's a real weapon of the bench I reckon Johnny Depp would play the part of Dick Hands Terapo if there was a movie made about him

So you are trying to say every games the penis plays in is fixed?

I've watched the highlights of both games, and nothing struck me as odd.

If the bet on Souths was to beat Manly by 8+, the final try where they go ahead by that margin didn't seem to involve any lack of effort on the part of Manly players to me. Defence was wrongfooted and just too good.

Ditto with the Parra win over Manly and the final try against the goalline defence, get down low and go go go. See it all the time, I don't think anything there would be deemed as sealing a result for the opposition - especially given the effort evident in the rest of the highlights.

The bigger worry is the reports of Foran's *alleged* friendship with this gambler guy... both our highly paid halfbacks seem to *allegedly* choose to hang out with f**kwits? As Korny said, someone seems to *Allegedly* be out to get Keiran through the media, and I hope he has some reliable support in place.

Mine too.

But what if it is a certain event from the game?

Someone scoring, penalty conceded it could be anything that isn't even obvious.

if you check out any sports betting site there are 1001 things that can be bet on like next try scorer, points total, winning margin etc etc etc

If I recall - didn't Foran set up a try with a great step and a break before passing to Matai for the try?

Edit - sorry already mentioned.

24 hours on after the the match fixing scandal presser, we can see some similarities with the 2013 "Darkest Day in Sport" presser.

Yesterday was clearly yet another shot across the the bow by the Australian Crime Commission (ACC) as a warning to those players, officials and Fat Tonys to watch themselves and back off.

The language is very much the same as it was in 2013

The investigation identified widespread use of prohibited substances including peptides, hormones and illicit drugs in professional sport.

It also found that this use has been facilitated by sports scientists, high-performance coaches and sports staff.

In some cases, players are being administered with substances that have not yet been approved for human use.

The ACC also identified organised crime identities and groups that are involved in the distribution of PIEDs to athletes and professional sports staff.

The ACC report notes increasing evidence of personal relationships of concern between professional athletes and organised criminal identities and groups. This may have resulted in match fixing and the fraudulent manipulation of betting markets.

“The Australian Crime Commission has found that professional sport in Australia is highly vulnerable to infiltration by organised crime,” Mr Clare said.

Blind Freddy can work out that a betting plunge on Foran's account by a "mate" who turns out to be a banned gambler and then that photograph at Star with Normz & Co with a heap of undesirables has triggered the ACC to step up and make it clear that they are watching.

My take on this is that the 2013 Peptide Presser was successful in the eyes of the ACC as it brought the situation into the public domain and probably was successful in stopping a heap of players from taking risks. It probably also warned off some crime gangs from professional NRL players.

The 2016 presser by the ACC is aimed to do the same. Even if no convictions follow from this, enough has been said to tell players and Fat Tonys out there that they are being watched and that fixing a result or setting up play designed to win an exotic bet is not as undetectable that they may think.

I don't think that the two Manly games are the focus of the ACC actually, moreso it's getting the match fixing/ crime gang conversation started and hopefully voiding player/merkin associations.

When did the ACC comment about the NRL match fixing?
