Hayne proved his loyalty when he broke a contract with us. If he really loved the club he would come back for unders, and if he would take unders we'd take him back in an instant. As it is, any amount of prolonged negotiation shows he's all about the money, which is just like Foran and Watmough, except their names are synonymous with leadership, toughness and team success.

He didn't break it and run like SBW he requested a release, it was granted and stated that he would only return to us. Lets see what happens there before we make assumptions on his price/loyalty.

Which prolonged negotiation are you talking about it? There is no evidence of that.

Foran and Watmough may have been winners with Manly but they were/are to this point losers or a better word have had no success with us. No finals appearances, nothing. Just leadership rhetoric which cannot be measured or quantified. The Canterbury 4 were winners at the Dogs. Were they winners with us? How do you define a winner? Did they at least get us to a GF? Hayne did. Basically on his own with one of the most phenomenal form streaks in the history of the game.

Injured Parramatta star Kieran Foran has confided he may never play rugby league again

INJURED Parramatta rugby league star Kieran Foran has confided to friends he may never play the game again.

Foran is contemplating his playing future as he tries to reconcile with his partner *Rebecca Pope.

He has moved back into the family home in an effort to make amends and work his way through a litany of personal problems, including his relationship breakdown.

The Daily Telegraph captured Foran and Ms Pope moving household items in and out of their Freshwater house on Thursday.

The star halfback told his manager Paul Sutton that not playing again was a realistic option but he would not rush into a decisions while he *attempts to recover from mental health issues and a shoulder injury that has put him out for the year.

“There’s no doubt that being back home is therapeutic for Kieran,” Sutton told The Daily Telegraph.

“But there is a lot of water under the bridge and much work to do on his relationship.”

The 25-year-old has been in a relationship with Ms Pope for seven years.

They have two young children — Emerson and baby Jordan — who has battled *serious health issues since his birth six months ago.

The little boy has been hospitalised twice.

Foran’s relationship with Ms Pope has been riddled with problems, while his betting and friendship with former brothel owner Eddie Hayson has raised concerns.

The Parramatta Eels star was seen in a Brisbane nightclub with his brother Liam and Hayson on the night of a game between Manly and Brisbane on May 14.

He was meant to be in a Brisbane rehabilitation centre after a prescription drug overdose in April.

On May 19 about $75,000 was lost over two hours from a TAB account belonging to Foran. The betting splurge happened just hours after he left rehab.

Foran’s prescription drug overdose occurred in a Sydney apartment near The Rocks, before he was rushed to St Vincent’s hospital.

His relationship with Ms Pope had broken down in the week of his collapse.

Since then, he has been in an out of the rehab centre but has been seen several times with his brother and Hayson at various Brisbane and Sydney nightspots. For an came out of the rehab centre to play football for the Eels but a shoulder injury has put his playing career on hold.

I wonder if Foran actually realises that reconciling with his partner will be extremely difficult if he's not an NRL player on $1.2 million a year?

So tomorrow if Hayne was available but the only way we could get him is with a straight swap for Foran would you do it? Hypothetically speaking if Foran chose to walk away with zero cost.

Before reading Bourbon Bec's article I would say a huge hypothetical but regardless, let me give you my answer to your original question.

if Hayne was available but the only way we could get him is with a straight swap for Foran would you do it?

Any club that had a chance to sign Jarryd Hayne and didn't give it serious consideration would be stupid - that goes without saying because the guy has proven that he is a sublime rugby league talent.

However whether I would do it as a straight swap for Foran depends on whether Hayne would play in the halves or not. If not, it isn't a straight swap because $ aside there is the issue of having the right players in the right positions in a team game.

If we signed Hayne as a direct swap ($) for Foran and failed to sign a quality half because we no longer had the money, that would put us in a similar position to previous years (i.e. a squad imbalance). What do we do with Gutherson and French? 2 players that BA has earmarked for future fullback roles. Norman has proven he needs another quality half to help him run the show and while both Guthbus or French COULD move into halves, they have less than 20 games between them in experience.

If Hayne was to play 6 or 7 however then yes, a straight swap would work.

Personally, however I believe we could afford to have Hayne, Norman and Foran in the same squad next year.

That would be amazing and I would probably have taka as a utility off the bench and have Kenny or Taka learn to be able to play 20 off Min a game at hooker. That way Gutho and French could stay in the back line, give French the valatine homes treatment for 2 years and then prime him for the #1.
We would still need a prop or 2 like Mao and hope someone like Kelly could be a decent backup 9 if required. We don't need to carry 4 hookers like this year realistically 2 are enough with 1 or 2 players being able to adapt to that role if required (i.e Nelson and Kelly)

They are also on the sidelines more often than Hayne ever was since being with us, plus played in top 4 Manly sides throughout their career. Hayne was our lone wolf on the paddock

IMO Hayne would be a sensation if he came back to us considering its the best Parra squad he would have played in

The convo would go a little something like this...

KF - I'm willing to do whatever it takes to keep this family together baby.
RP - Well I'm glad to hear it Keiran
KF - Yep, I've told Brad Arthur I'm quitting footy and I'm going to make this work
RP - Ummm. OK. But do you get a pay out?
KF - Oh I dunno Hon, but what does it matter. As long as we're together. If we need to sell our place at Freshwater and move to Raby, or Shalvey, then that's what we'll do. Money comes and goes but our love is here to stay babe

RP - Get Back to training Keiran.

His Dad makes 20 million a year, I'm sure the family gets by without him having to make a mill.

Was going to say the same. Life is a lot different on $100k max rather then a minimum $1million.

But that article is full of shit!! There is no way Foran will quit league.

Taka to edge forward with Scott at lock. Push Moeroa to the bench. Basically gives us an extra forward.

I think I've figured out the real underlying reason behind Avengers Foran hate.

He sees it as an either or situation, in his opinion we cannot have both Hayne and Foran, it's one or the other.

Now, as he obviously has blinkers on for Hayne, He's gonna choose Hayne over anyone else. And he sees Foran as a barrier to Hayne's return, so Foran has to go. To justify this, he craps on about how useless Foran is, and that we shouldn't have singed him because it means we can't sign Hayne now (that's the part he doesn't say).

Comparing Hayne and Foran is silly IMO. It's like comparing a drill to a hammer, both are useful and have value, but you can't drill a hole with a hammer, and you can't bang in a nail with a drill (not effectively, anyways).

Would I swap Foran for Hayne? Frankly, no. In my opinion, I feel that Hayne owes it to us that if he were to come back, he should take whatever we can afford in order to keep the rest of the squad intact, and then be the biggest god damned team player the NRL has ever seen.

How and why he did it is irrelevant, he buggered off on us when we needed him. That left a bruise on lots of fans, and he needs make a gesture to make it right.

Now, before you jump on me, I love Hayne too, one of the best to play for the Eels, and the NRL in general, his natural talent is mind blowing. I rate him over 99% of players.

If he wants to prove to us that he truly loves the club, come back on what we can afford until we can upgrade him later.
