Lyon did not play 5/8. Such a critical position. IMO it can be easy to look good in the outside backs.

To create the structure and make the right decisions in wet conditions was very impressive, but what did it for me was his defence! SUPER!

IMO Lyon's debut was non event. I remember it was against Manly back in 2000 and he fell for a Terry hill dummy who went into score. It was a normal debut. I thought Green had an ok debut he held his own. INU had an very good debut but the debut of SBW - that is the best debut I have ever seen.

No way I think it was agaist the raiders but could be wrong but I do remember he looked like he had been playing nrl for years, he might of scored a try, not sure but he made heaps of breaks.

you're right he was up against Terry Hill but it was the Wests Tigers.

Scifcoske missed a goal from the sideline that would of drawn the game at the death.

He was actually in the losing Flegg side in 2005, however i agree with all you have said above. Keating may be great now but he is 18 and we don't know how he will turn out. Blake is 20 and has acheived all of the above and successfully debuted, do you risk all of that in hope that Keating does the same thing? If that is the path they go down, i will be shattered that Blake is leaving (as he is one of my favs) but i will support the decision and enjoy watching Keating come through cause he certainly has great potential

Blake is a MUST re-signing. he would remain loyal before Tim Smith who isn't a local junior. Is there anything wrong with Keating/Green in a few years from now?

You know the Gold Coast will come knocking, and Tim Smith will want to go home one day.

I just don't want to see us lose Green because we think Keating will be better and at the same time we lose Smith also.

Green is good now, so he must be resigned now.

Are we going to let Keating go in a few years because we think Albert Kelly will be better?

I think hagan wants Green re-signed immediately. Green caught the eye on Saturday night

SBW debut was amazing but you are comparing apples with oranges.

SBW ability to beat players through physical strength and the ability to offload was and still is extraudinary but what impressed me so much with Blake was his ability to structure the team in both defence and attack. Everything clicked in wet weather conditions and he too like Lyon looked like a week in week out first grader IMO.

Very solid point raised by Mr T in refence to local junior talent retention! - Thank you.
