The thing that gets me, is the Sharks have always struggled for team sponsors. I believe they've started a couple of seasons with no Jersey sponsons whatsoever. Yet with the team they've assembled, it seems tpas is never an issue. I guess there's nothing to see here thou.

There is little advantage for an NRL team to have a lot of sponsors, as the NRL is essentially giving you a grant to cover a lot of your expenses anyway and this is only about to increase. Sponsor money just get fritted away on incidentally not essential things, including things like paying for trips to the USA...

However, to have access to people that could be sponsors provide funds to the players...Well that's just priceless in the NRL.

Bingo. And I have said previously about a certain someone who appears to have been trying to put his finger in our pies, but as I have said in the wrong way. He can do way more for the club from the outside

I am suspicious as well but he could well have had good reasons for not wanting to prop up the last bunch of buffoons. I agree that the best way to help is to not get officially involved.

Anyway it doesn't matter now that we're gonna powerhouse our way to all those titles.

I'm kind of feeling right now, that if Greenberg wants control of the club in order to get Parra to win a premiership (because it's good for the NRL, TV ratings, etc) then he can go ahead with my blessings.

That's what we ultimately want too, isn't it?

I don't see why Greenberg would want Parramatta to not do well, it really doesn't serve the NRL's interests for us to not be a powerful and successful club, the better we do, the better the NRL's position is in Western Sydney, right? So it stands to reason that he would want us to be a top tier side, competing for the premiership every year.

Unless you subscribe to the "Greenberg was from the bulldogs and hence has a personal grudge against the Eels and wants them to fail" train of thought, and if that's the case, then I can't help you, cause that's crazy talk.

International football is worthless and Origin is dying so they are 'praying' for feel good premiership stories, like Souffs and Cows. I reckon if by some miracle Sharks win this season, I'd feel confident about a premiership in next couple of years

I don't think it would be a miracle if the Sharks won the comp. To be honest they're going to be there or thereabouts.

Well the refs/bunker do keep kissing the Sharks on the dick with their decisions. Corey Parker is probably the other 'feel good' story, but neither are as good as us winning it from 14th after Round 19.

I think he probably does want us to do well but I think his overriding desire is that we stop being an embarrassment to the game by leaking shit all over the place. And I'm pretty sure he's not going to help us cheat like you need to do to succeed in the NRL.

And signing Hayne doesn't need to have anything to do with him. If we can afford him and he wants to play for us then that's all we need.
