300-350k is reasonable if he matures into a complete playerI'd say $300k to $350, but Parra are in that shit position where they have to pay overs or end up with signings like Walker, Hicks and Webb again.
Uhhh, Papalli's contractual negotiations with the Raiders have been reported by the media for months now. The club stated he was their number one priority signing during the off season and that they were waiting for the salary cap to be sorted out before entering final negotiations. They weren't asleep at all.
It's more likely that Parramatta threw their chequebook at him because you are desperate to have quality players on board to reverse your disastrous form over the last few years.
Good for him. Doesn't mean a thing till round 13.
He's going from $100k to $330k per season.
Yes a lot of coin but worth every cent considering his current form, age and potential
Mate it's over move on, I never realised Raiders supporters were such bitches, land of the law you sign player you lose players.....black and white, where is the grey area?"Whether he's signed anything or not won't stop our determination to keep him. We're aware of the rule and we have every intention of exploiting it." - Don Furner
That coupled with the current theory that Parramatta announced this early knowing he was having 2nd thoughts and trying to pressure him to honour the deal.
Quotes from Anthony Milford on twitter...
This thing is very, very far from over
Mate it's over move on, I never realised Raiders supporters were such bitches, land of the law morons you sign player you lose players.....black and white, how thick are you people.
You should let Don Furner know he is a thick bitch.. No use pretending the Raiders aren't going to try and keep him and have a chance too, even if its a slim one.
You signed Edwards before securing Papalli right?:?
100k is the contract he signed as a kid. The raiders have been negotiating with him for a bit. I don't see why you guys don't want to believe you had to outbid the raiders. Its why there is a salary cap to keep the talent distributed.
No way its 300k based on everything coming from the media.
Makes no difference to whether they are still trying to retain Papalii or not.
Of course we had to give him a sizeable contract, he wasn't going to leave for less was he?
Media said $1m for 3 years = $333k per season, thats a massive contract for a young guy thats just broken through.
Dont believe it if it makes u feel better. Raiders probably thinking they could re-sign him for $250k and got found out
Are you serious?
Makes a massive difference because it contradicts raiders argument that they were waiting for cap to be official. If you cant see that you're in massive denial
but why do you want a player that clearly dont wanna be there?and they'll also have to accept that despite offering minimum 400k, they still might not get their man, given its very apparent Josh Papalii's preference is to stay in canberra and the raiders are now hell bent on doing what they can to keep him.
What we can do might not be enough, but there is a chance, and id say a decent one that we can come up with a deal that keep hims in lime green
