Eels team list against Brisbane

I think if I was a neutral I'd be tipping us to not win a game in the finals this year. And I wouldn't be happy to be proved wrong.

If our strongest team was available come finals time, and nobody was returning from injury but had played the season un-hampered, I reckon we could have challenged. As it stands, with Guth out, Kritchard and Scott only outside chances of playing again, French struggling with his hammy and the likes of Fritchard and Terepo only just getting back to match fitness, I think we're a bit skinny and not ready to mix it with the big boys in September at this stage. But it will hopefully provide a launching pad for 2018

Or we will be the smokies and finally put together 3 hight quality games of which we are capable of having seen glimpses throughout the season to date (i.e. rock solid defence and blistering attack on the back of quality second phase play, albeit in different games).

Will Smith offers better ball playing skill then Hoffman. In last game there was one ball he should of done better cleaning up. Overall he had a fantastic game. Two of his tries I doubt Hoffman scores. Not even sure Bevan does.

Sure.... We have put 65mins together. It was 3 weeks ago against Brisbane. If we do it again we win thursday night.

So many game of late we have butchered 3 or 4 tries per game.

My point exactly.
For some reason whether it be inexperience, nerves, exuberance or simply shit execution, we have bombed tries in a large number of our games this year.
Last week we totally bombed at least 2 tries (Norman's dropped ball and Auva'a's wayward pass back inside) and a 42-8 scoreline would have looked a darn sight better.

He is insanely strong and light on his feet. It's a lethal combination.

Anyway, here's an interesting stat.

Since 1998 our record against Brisbane is 18-20. And our record at Suncorp since they went back there in 2003 is 6-7. Given some of the years we've had in that time compared to them, that's a pretty reasonable record.

I do think they'll be too strong for us this time, though.
