A lot of the players named just came back this week

Vella - out since round 18
McKinnon - Out since round 22
Petersen - Out since round 19
Wagon - out since round 15
and Peek - out since round 20

But looks like they'll be coming back the long way due to the form shown by the likes of Burt, Reddy, Moimoi and Robinson while they have been out.

Still have Timana Tahu, Glenn Morrison and Justin Tsoulos on the sideline.

The teams look a lot stronger this week then they have in recent times just that it's a case of all the players recovering in the same week warping things a little.

Parra had been on the downward slide for the three years prior to this season however, so really it's just smart work in terms of recruitment to get them back up there.

Sure the backline in Firsts is full of young talent...but it's largely inexperienced and ol' Smithy will be putting them under pressure for sure, hopefully some clever kicks behind the line, cut-out balls to Phil Graham etc...

The main reason our premier league is so strong this week is that a number of kids have really stepped up in first grade.

At the start of the season, with Tahu playing in the centres, plenty of people were concerned about our depth in that position.

As it turns out, with kids like benny smith and delaney stepping up, that hasnt been an issue. Its not just smart recruiting, its also smart player retention, something smith has been bagged for....obviously he knew what he was doing when he was releasing players left right and 'centre' last year.

McKinnon, Petersen and Wagon have all been injured for a while - Wagon last played in Rnd 15. Showing a bit of faith in the kids that played well last week I think.

Cannings and Moi Moi are unlikely to play together off the bench again given their games are very similar. Smith likes a steady player off the bench as well as an impact player.

In all honesty Parra have better backs than Wagon, he shouldnt be in their strongest team.

Good to see Petersen in PL, he would cut us to shreads, god like player.
