Good idea C.

Followed by some ice breaker games, so they actually bother to get to know each other this year, and can form some kind of bond that might feed an ethic of teamwork.

You can have a great attacking game plan but if you can't compete for the full eighty minutes you will struggle even more because nine times out of ten you don't have the ball anyway.

They need to run plenty of miles into the legs of every player......

I'd love to see H and Cat cop hate mail from every player in the squad by March next year, problem is they're just too nice...

run til they spew, then run them some more.
It never did Bert, Sterlo, Pricey, The Crow and the Zip Zip Man any harm.

LOL.

I am all for believing that the players aren't well trained compared to other clubs. The proof of that is on display each week.

But training elite athlets is a profession, and armchair experts can't provide the best modern day NRL training regime.

If we get new trainers, I'd prefer they not be Colonel, Stagger or Bartman (no offence guys).

In saying that i'm sure the 3 mentioned would command less money than the current trainers and fitzy is all for saving money with the pokie tax and all.:sarcasm:

Can I still be in charge of the ice-breakers though? ;-)

They can't no. But nothing wrong with running the sand hills at Cronulla - a widely used practise that a lot of clubs still continue to do.

Getting the miles into the legs helps them in the long term. Doesn't hurt the country players thats for sure. I'd argue that a lot of the top players (and yes there won't be a lot of them) in Group 4 would rival a lot of the Parramatta players in terms of fitness and these blokes work for a living and train at best three times a week.

take the bums out of their comfort zone..
stop their complacency..

As Greg said.. Sand Hills..

nothing wrong with getting the boys back to the good old days where the players used to have to run behind garbage trucks for a few hours a day rather than always being stuck on the sprint simulator in the weights room or riding pushies around parramatta park..

get em down to the fish markets like a few of the old boys used to do.. 3-4 hours of unloading fish crates off boats...

get them away from the stuff they are used to.. push the envelope and get them working.. if they aren't going to do it onfield.. at least earn it off it.

Run the lazy bastards, make them throw up every day for a month or 2, enough is enough. Get these guys fit already

Well if they want our money for season ticket renewals before the season's over, they should be out there earning it!

That's the day after my proposed op.... I can be like Patches O'Houlihan and throw wrenches at them from a wheelchair.

Nice guys finish out of the eight. I bet if they flog the hell out of them and they make the GF the boys will love them.
