We were terrible, extremely lucky to win!

We started the game with Joe Mataele in the halves (seriously not kidding, he went off in around the 30th minute).

Anthony Mitchell was pretty good and scored an awesome solo try.

Gardiner was probably the best on ground and Baumann was next i think.

Those Roosters props were HUGE!!!!

Can anyone tell me who our 21 was?????

I agree we were very ordinary today and I couldn't understand why Cameron started with Mataele at five-eight, infact I still can't.

a couple of highlights..

* A big game from Nathan Gardner, he was a constant menace from fullback.

* Amazing solo try to Anthony Mitchell which may be a catylist for things to come, let's hope so anyway.

* a great debut from Brad Graham at right centre whilst Sean Cox made a welcome return on the wing.

* Lewis, Baumann, Tim robo, Kene TeWhata and Tim Mannah were all solid without being brilliant.

Yes a pretty ordinary effort, but they came good in the second half. We've got a good crop of kids there though. Anthony Mitchell did great at 6. Nathan Gardiner had a good game at the back. His genuine pace and skill was very impressive.

I like the look of Robinson, Mannah T (we kept the right one methinks) and No.20 (?).

stagger, is anthony mitchell a similar player to mk or completely different style?

man if nrl had transfer fees, parra would be the richest club with the amount of talent in the juniors

they're different..

Mitchell is an attacking 9 in the Robbie Farah mould and MK plays a more tighter role and defensively much better.

Wasn't Kene named in the Jim Beam Cup Wenty team? How does he go from obscurity to NYC?

Yes, Graham was also good, he has good size and made a few very important tackles.

I think it's interesting that we had a successful SG Ball and Matthews side this year and we have seen barely any of them, yet other sides are promoting all of theirs to the NYC, why do we do that as a club?????

we tend to bring them up a bit more slowly, bare in mind that Kelly, Auremi and Galati are currently occupie with the Australian school boys while our other hopefulls like Johnston and and Nutira are probably behind the current forward pack in the side.

We have had a pretty bad run with injuries this year and their season finished about 10 or so weeks ago, the Aussie squad was only just picked, where have they been all this time? Seriously?

I don't get the policy of our club sometimes, it doesn't make sense at all!!

I'm not sure...I don't even remember waht the time frame was between the SG Ball final and Aust school boys championships but I'm sure the boys were still traning with the squad..also plenty of flegg squad have been playing for their A Grade side over the last couple of months so they've also been available for selection.

How long is Kene TeWhata (if that was 21) under contract to us, he adds some size but looked a bit unfit.

not sure but I actually see him potentially as good a prospect as John Mannah, nothing that a big off season can't fix in regards to his fitness.

$100 says it was to shut him up about playing in the halves.....

He has the skills.

Kene! :D

Kene Te Whata is still elibible for NYC next year, he is only 19

He is a goer, just curious as to why he was playing JB Cup and one game for NSW Cup, why not NYC all year considering the Mannah Bros have spent a fair bit of time out and his size could have helped us through the slump we had.....
