Still like a busted arse from what I understand. Somethings never change.

Actually he played pretty good vs Catalans on the weekend. Played 2nd ball player to Barrett but gave a lot of clean ball and did a few cleaver things including a 40/20 at the backend of the game.

They play Leeds next week with the winner playing St Helens in the GF.

...

To make Mick Hagan a scapegoat for the LAST MINUTE field goal loss on Saturday night is a joke.....
Matt Cameron gets praised with wins, Hagan bagged for losses.
Talk about a laughable set of double standards....... :sarcasm:

Watch out Mick if Wenty get rolled!!!!!!

couldn't agree more!!! .... I know Hages isn't mr popular atm, but I think ppl are doing alot of whinging about him for the sake of whinging (seems like the in thing to do)

A few days late, but....

*Am I the only one who thought Gardiner was poor? He did some good things, but also some terrible ones. That said, I do realise the kid just had an off day and is a lot better than that.
*Mortimer was also poor IMO, took some horrible options and really did nothing to help an obviously struggling Hodkinson. I'd have shifted KK back to 6 after 20 mins or so to be perfectly honest, and Mortimer or Gardiner to the back. It also shows what sort of trouble we're in for the halves next year IMO.
*Williams is quite obviously the new media darling of the NRL. Dead set they couldn't stop praising him.

*Tim Mannah was enormous IMO. He was the only one dragging us forward at times. Also sad to lose his brother, who was very good for the most part
*Lasalo looks a good prospect, as does Mase (I hope the talk of him leaving isn't true). Both are big and strong but also agile and skillful, and Lasalo had a massive game.
*Our first grade forwards could learn a lot from these kids. Marty Lewis, Dave Baumann, and co aren't the biggest (much like our FG guys) but they seem to manage to break the advantage line regularly enough.

*Our game is in serious trouble if that is the "next in line" in terms of referees. Seriously, the guy was horrible and it's been a trend in NYC all year. Mase gets spun around 360 degrees, not a dangerous tackle? KK taken out trying to regather the kick for the Dragons second(?) and the try off a clear knock on all come to mind.

I know Tony Williams is our current #1 (or maybe #2 behind hagan) voodoo doll pin cushion (ie we love giving it to him) cos he has bolted to manly - but in all honesty I don't think he was that bad the other night .... he ran hard and looked pretty dangerous, making several good offloads - had some handling issues tho

I think we had poor ball security across the park and a lack of direction when we got to the right end of the field ..... the guys had a go - just had a bit of an average night unfortunately

re: Dave Baumann .... gotta love the effort this guy puts in - they have deadset cloned Hindy - my only problem is he's a "older Hindy" clone not a "young Hindy" clone - ie. he works his frickin arse off, tackles everything that moves, is there to mop up other's mistakes, but he has very little to offer in terms of attack .... he'll be great for when Hindy leaves, but atm he's just another of the worker clones - we need some good ball runners

It's more that (for me anyway) he doesn't do much that's really that special, has an amazing ability to go completely MIA or make utterly basic mistakes, and yet the media seem to think he's the latest incarnation of the Buddha....

yeah I agree, the media is going a bit overboard purely cos he's a big unit .... but he IS a damaging ball runner and he did several great runs and offloads the other night - gotta give him some credit

Gardner is similar to Burt. Give me David Williams anyday.

Tim is awesome, he is big, can cart it forward but also is a worker. Nyc always look like a better side when he is out there. He should get a taste of FG next season for sure.

I've been told that Mitchell Allgood doesn't have a case to answer for the eye guage complaint made against him..very very lucky boy imo.

He'd want to, but then again, under Hagan.......who knows?

Fair call IMO....personally I didn't see a gouge. He'd want to stop putting his hands in blokes faces though...

He raked his face a bit...but it wasn't a gouge. Still, like I said, he'd do well to keep his hands out of blokes faces. I'd prefer no Eels players to be compared to Paul Gallen thanks :fist:
