not everyone buddy, certainly not me. I had huge ????? over him because i didn't see anything from him in the juniors. And a heap of other people on here were of the same thinking.

The kid has a great attitude, his future lies in the hooking role or reggies.

Will DA have the guts to drop him??

Not me pal... if you can find a post where I ever said this imposter had the skill to lead an NRL team around then show me.
Hell of a nice kid and a terrier in defence but i have never seen a worse halfback.

and thats the thing isnt it. I can recall before he was promoted last year, posters here were saying he was very very ordinary. Any game that I saw when he was playing junior I certainly wasnt impressed. When you compare this with players like Jamie Soward who as a junior completely owned the competition.
There is only one reason that Morts got the gig, its because of the surname. If his surname was Smith, the bulldogs wouldnt have got into a huge lather about him and he probably would be still languishing in the reggies. Now I hear that the club may be bringing someone in to 'assist ' him find his way... FMD either the kid can play or he cant !!!!!!!!!!!!

not me either. I didn't see any natural talent there and so his execution are hit and miss.

I wouldn't have minded if he was resigned for $75K but for what he did sign fall, it was when my daggers came out.

I'd still go 6. Feleti 7. Humble and let hayne do what he did last year rather than ball play, ball play, ball play.

Sorry guys but Mortimer has nothing. No vision, no creativity.

This probably the best pack of forwards we had in the last 20 years yet all the go forward is being wasted.
We have field position and we are rolling forward but it's coming to nothing because our halfback has got nothing.

THis is what I have been saying for such a long time.

We can get to the opposition 20 but from there, we are really, really lost.

It always goes to the Finch play of bomb to the right. But our halves do not have the accuracy in their kicking game to execute it properly.

If you watch when tries are scored out wide, the forwards are like SH?T, we toughed it out in the middle and the people out wide leaves holes.

Mortz should just tackle and support. That's what he did last year and did it so well.

Humble did ok but really only distributed today.

Mortimer has always performed best at 6, at first outside Robson in the run last year, and at times outside Keating (on days when Morts is happy taking a back seat).

Tonight, we saw another pairing... Morts-Humble. They both go ok, but there's something missing - Morts is simply not a 7 (and I doubt he ever will be).

If Parra have signed Cronk, it will be to fill a gap at 7 that is our achilles heel. Morts may then become the 6 that he is, and Humble looks to be an able back up for Morts or Hayne in 1, or a bench option if he can learn how to become a dummy half as well.

We still need to buy in a fourth prop to replace Cayless in the rotation as well, before we can be serious threats. We'd probably save some money there, and I'd probably retain Oake cheaply as a back up for a back row of Hindy, Smith, Horo (Saving money from Mateo's contract).

Maybe we'll be one quality regular outside back short next year if Grothe as well as Inu leaves? Then buy in a hooker for 2012 when Robson's contract runs out (unless Mitchell finally gets himself into NRL contention).

If Ando can get us through to 2012 constructing a side not based entirely around Mortimer, then we might be a chance at winning something....
