When we had the run in 2009, MK was used for the first 20 mins in a hooker/lock type role. Kevin K came on to introduce a quicker passing and running hooker. If KK was firing fron that point we would see MK come on to play an up tempo lock role in the second half, and occasionally into hookerif KK was out of position

It worked a treat, but Kearney tried to make him a second Cam Smith, didnt work but the coach wouldnt change the role.

King Arthur prefers a more expansive game when in possession, and that suits our roster, simple

And boy didn't we shift it to the edges and burn them.

It was soo good to watch the bsall being moved across thhe backline, decoy runners and options, FMD what a far cry from the turn the ball inside tactics, and wait for Smith/Cronk/Slater to do something, (note to SK) oh we dont have them playing for us.

When King Arthur had the Storm U20 they won the comp scoring a record number of tries, they didnt have the most star studied roster but they had a game plan (didnt we need one)

Maybe King Arthur is ready for a first grade gig.
He does have a 100% record afterall.

Mickdo, Kingston normally came on after 30 minutes in the run into half time if I remember those heady days, happy to be corrected, but what a ride in 2009

I'm a recreational gambler so they can read all they want.

Well done on the collect, though. Even a modest victory is still a victory, dan.

Also, Suity, I'm a humble bloke. There's an old saying about me: I'm as humble as I am handsome.

I agree that MK is not a front line backrower but I do think that it is possible to use MK in a "Dean Young" type role. Take the heat out of the game at hooker, have a rest bringing on the livewire (in this case Smith) and then slotting into the back row rotation. I think it makes more sense than having 2 props and 2 back rowers on the bench.

This.

If you're going to have two hookers in the 17, one of them needs to be able to play somewhere else otherwise you only get 80 minutes out of them combined.

Keating could certainly spend 30-40 minutes at lock/tight forward just defending and supporting up the middle. This would allow Smith to play 50-60 minutes at hooker, with Keating making up the rest of the time.

We have spread the ball wide all year when we've gotten some quick play-the-balls. Have a look at round 2 vs the Warriors - another shithouse defensive team.

The problem is no team has allowed us to play the ball so quickly as the Broncos did last night. We were very good but Brisbane were atrocious.

Widdop, O'Neill, Duffie, Bromwich and Proctor are all regular first graders now. Plus they had Luke Kelly. Not a bad number of NRL graduates for an NYC team.

very good. i think given you are a messiah of sorts that any winnings you get would maybe be classified as a church donation?

cheers. it was the third win on the trot after my lucky omen on sunday (an asian waitress - and let's assume she was chinese for all intents and purposes - gave me table number 88 at nando's). i am hoping that as august is the 8th month the luck continues and the month is a profitable one.

nice work on your double.

errrr you do not follow sports? the world of sports is littered with instances when a dud coach is f**ked of and all of a sudden a team starts winning, just look at Chelsea.

So now they've sacked that useless merkin Di Matteo do you reckon they'll start winning again?

And if they do does that not say something more about the players than the coach?
