EELS vs TIGERS

I just want no injuries. We have a habit of winning all/most of our trial matches but then getting hammered in Round 1. I would rather lose all the trial matches and win Round 1

Nah that's a bitch act.

You a Parra man? Eels fan? Get your f**king hopes up, expect the best, and if you end up disappointed, deal with it.

A lot of the negativity around here is from timid fans with bitch nuts refusing to get their hopes up. Sure it might be easier writing the team off and then getting on the bandwagon later if we do go well, but that attitude brings everyone else down, and as we've seen, creates an air of hostility because optimists don't like having their hopes shit on.

I think you missed my point. I don't mean to say "expect to lose". I mean to say "don't expect a good indication of how we have progressed in a trial".
Our halves looked like world beaters in the trials last season, culminating in a great first half performance against the Warriors and subsequently dropping off, something quite endemic of the rest of our season.
Winning would obviously be nice but taking anything away from this is folly.
As some have said, if we escape with no injuries and a decent hit-out we should be very pleased despite the result.

And it's quite funny you'd say I'm trying to put down the optimists when I have every belief we could make the top eight, nor do I ever attempt to dash people's hopes about our season. I was talking about how the result of a trial game isn't a great example to judge our hopes for the title by, which I would've thought didn't need to be clarified.
Your point would be relevant if today's clash was Round 1.

lucky i'm not a meteorologist. It's pi$$ing down here

Maybe you should be. They're not that much more accurate tbh. I'm guessing the sun is almost out again now.
BTW, it should clear for the game, although there might be a shower or two. Today is quite volatile weatherwise.

Very very bad service.

Not talking about Matt keating but the fact there is only one bar open in the club and a large and very thirsty crowd.

Keep the bar service updates coming Bigfella.
That's almost as important as Sandow's performance.
