When we went ahead by 12 we just seemed to switch off a little and that led to making sloppy errors and generally being a step off the pace. They basically out hustled us after that and then by the time we realised we were in the glue we had lost a bit of confidence and just could not execute which in turn feed the Titans hustle.

Moeroa's dumb arse penalty from the late hit shoulder charge stands out as the real turning point for me.
It wasn't late, was a shoulder charge.

Ash Taylor was the difference, quality diver as well.

so not to get off topic but how good was the tackle by Jennings on Hurrell. Stopped him dead in his tracks and drove him backwards. I didn't realise the merkin was that strong

Couldnt agree more ... that really irked me ... we were just giving them 6 more tackles over and over
Bloody oath. Why the f**ken urgency to dive on the ball in risky situations when you're gonna get it after a tackle or two anyway?! Just brainless, panicked play.

Jennings is a god-damned beast in defence. That hit on Hurrell was f**king textbook. It is hard to appreciate how built Jennings is until you see it in person.

We'll lose just as many if he's going to give away two stripping penalties and drop the ball cold twice....
Yep. Pretty simplistic conflation that Scott on = win and Scott off = lose. Correlation doesn't equal causality, and nobody's mere presence is that important. They need to be contributing to the play as well.

As for his minutes off the field, he was never an endurance athlete. Last year after he moved to the middle he only averaged 50 minutes per game (literally 300 minutes in six games) and this year he is playing the same number of minutes (150 so far in three games, pending an adjustment to the stats). It certainly helps his minutes that he doesn't run the ball often.

End of the day, our forwards actually outplayed theirs....Mannah, Ma'u. Matagi made over 100m. Brown made 85 even with the stint at hooker. Only Paasi made over 100m for the Titans.

We lost that game on some poor defence, very poor basic skills and the lack of control from the halves. Very disappointing effort from Robson, with over 150 NRL games, to not take control at any stage tbh. Even as a back up, as an experienced halfback he should have taken control of the side.
He doesn't have the running game to 'take control' of the side. He is in the team for his kicking, defence and support play. Otherwise his job is to catch-pass to more threatening players.

Matagi was very good. Gutherson started well but he suffered because his halfback couldn't take charge of the game and order the side around....tough to blame him in his third game at 6 when Robbo has over 150 at 7.
For the second week in a row Gutherson has handled the ball more than his 'halfback'.
