If that were the criteria then David Williams would be talked up but that is not the case. Dragons fans rate Hornby and Soward, few others do.
Next you're going to tell me Morris is a quality origin winger.
Hornby is a 2nd string halfback at best and Soward is a nuffy who can kick. The reason the Dragqueens played such boring footy for the last couple of years is because the halves lacked creativity and they relied on the forwards to make meters and defend like their lives depended on it. It worked and they had great success with it but to claim it was on the back of good work by quality halves is just being delusional. They would have been better off losing Soward and Hornby than Smith and Costigan. The forwards were the ones that earned the premiership last year.
[Sitting back and loving the St Merge implosion]
No need to get so defensive and childish. I (and many others) don't rate the St Merge halves, I'm entitled to an opinion whether you agree with it or not. They had a great forward pack and classy outside backs and that is what made them such a formidable side. In fact, the closest I can come to finding a side that compares in that regard is Manly in 2008. Orford was a good halfback but I think anyone would be pushing it to claim he was anything special and Lyon was a fill in 5/8. I think Lyon has more talent than Soward and Hornby combined but he is a centre. Manly had an awesome forward pack in 2008 and quality backs in Bell, Stewart, Matai, Williams and Robertson.
What implosion exactly?
What implosion exactly?
].To win comps you need quality in the halves (though 2010 proved to be an exception).
].
had the Melbourne incident not happen last year the dragons would not have won.
The roosters fell off there wave of emotion in the prelim
The tits were over rated and never a chance
They beat a great tigers team fair n square ( that should of been the grandfinal)
But,
If St George win this weekend it could all change and click for them very quickly..no way I'll write them off I'd hate to play them finals week one.. I'm more worried about the the recent form of my team. We were rubbish against the eels..
Pure speculation and deluded arrogance
It really doesn't matter how other club fans view your premiership mate. All that matters is what it means to you. At the end of the day I saw two teams on Grand Final day in 2010, the Roosters and the Dragons. Didn't see Melbourne anywhere near ANZ Stadium. And the words "if" and "but" don't mean much to me. They cheated, they lost out. End of story.
I laughed when there was a thread on here some time ago that talked about who would have played in the 1997 Grand Final if Super League never happened. Deluded Manly fans crapping on about a grand final between them and Brisbane. Well I'm sorry but I don't live in that fantasy world because that grand final never happened in 1997.
What did happen on the day was one of the greatest grand final victories in Rugby League history. That's all that matters to me, I couldn't care less for the "what if" scenarios presented by bitter Manly fans. I saw it, I lived it, I'll always remember it.
