Was does everyone make of this? He is outraged that they have had the nerve to ask him to do this.

Well I think it's a joke that he's "offended" to be asked to go to the police station. If he's as outraged by the crime as he apparently is by the police, he could probably tell the cops a lot of good info.

That said, I dont think he should have to provide a DNA sample if he doesnt want. From all accounts, he wasnt involved. He doesnt drink and didnt go to the clubs. There's probably zero chance that he was involved. His lawyer had a point that just because he goes about in the same footy jumper as the blokes being investigated, doesnt mean he had anything to do with it.

BTW that Chris Murphy is a grub. A complete left wing lunatic with delusions of grandeur and wants to be a US-style celebrity lawyer.

All he has done now is put question mark over his head #-o . All they will do is get a court order and he will have to supply a sample. I've seen this thing in court before.

I dont think he had anything to do with it - he seems to me to be one of the 'family men' of the team. But it doesnt put him in a good position.

I mean, does anyone recall a rape in a small town a few years back when the entire town had DNA swabs taken to find out who did it? If it meant clearing my name and proving I had nothing to do with it, why wouldnt you do it? If you've got nothing to lose, why would you object?! Hasem mate, just take the test like the rest of the team.

Look, if there is other evidence to suggest he wasn't involved, why does he have to take a DNA test? Surely the Police inquiries should be able to narrow down the suspects. If El Masri was sharing a room with another player, who wasn't involved that should be enough.

IF she has made allegations against El Masri, then he should. Maybe the police has a reason to ask for it. Who knows?

Well that's the thing

I dont think she has

And they've decided to test ALL the Bulldogs.

If no one can place el Masri at the scene of the crime (IF a crime was committed at all) well he has every right to tell them to f**k off.

Just on the topic, I was speaking to a Bulldogs fan the other day who asked "Where is Willie?" and pointed out that usually he's everywhere in the media but lately he's been like a GHOST.

I think you will find that She has been able to identifed one or two players? I would assume the police have DNA for the others involved and this process will identify them and clear the rest of the team.

I'd like the Sharks to be as sure of winning the comp as El Masri is of NOT being involved.
Waste time on the real crims and leave him alone. (I could be way wrong here but I think there is more chance of me getting the Superfecta and quadrella at the Farm today and jagging the quaddie in Melbourne as well).

I am sure Hasem has nothing to do with it. But this is probably just part of the process of elimination.

So why stop at the players? Why not test all officials who went? And all the people at the Pacific Bay resort?

There has to be some reasonable limit to the number of people they can test. Unless el Masri gets accused or otherwise linked to the crime, I think it's entirely unreasonable that he refuses to take a test.

I actually support Hasam's in his decision not to provide a DNA sample. Why should he if he wasn't involved. If police wanted a DNA sample from him let them get a court order inwhich they'd need to show resonable cause to obtain the order. Why should he have to prove his innocence. It's up to the police to prove if he was involved.

Good onya Hasam for sticking up for your rights.

As I said SS the girl has pointed the finger at one or two players who she could identifiy. She has been reported as saying there was up to six? The police must have something in the way of DNA evidence other wise thet wouldn't waste all this time and the huge amount of money it takes to get DNA results.
El Masri made the statement that he was offended by the request I would be also, but I would rather give my DNA and be cleared by the police than live with the :?: mark hanging over my head.

The police have admitted he is not currently a suspect, but they want the DNA anyway. I'd be telling 'em to piss off too.

Maybe Hasem is out of line here.
for mine the Police are working for them in this instance.
If she wrongly identifies just one, her entire case is gone. If she fails to mention 1 who was involved, her case is gone. If she can't remember exactly how many there were, her case is gone.
DNA sampling the entire team does nothing for her case.

I would. As I said earlier it is up to the police to come up with enough evidence to prove any player was involved not for the player to prove his innocence. I for one would not provide DNA to the police voluntarily, who knows what and were it would end up.

I in no way condone rape nor am I saying this is what happened but how easy is it to accuse someone of rape if you had consenual sex with them in the first place. People could do it for the attention, money, revenge or because they feel guilty about what they have done. If any player is found guilty I hope he rots in jail were all rapists belong.

Revenge, attention, money huh?
heres a little story from a guy I met on a plane last month.
Said guys wife says she needs some space, marriage is in trouble. Said guy says OK, you stay in the house with our 2 daughters, take all the time u need.
A couple of months later, wife has new guy nearly living in the house. All paid for by hubby of course. Daughters say they are creeped out by him & very upset because he drinks too much.
Concerned hubby let's it go until Xmas eve when wife & boyfreind have fight. Daughter rings up crying. Hubby goes over gets daughters & tells her they will be getting a divorce & he will seek custody.
police arrive at his pad a few hours later put girls into docs car & cuff him.
XMAS eve. He is charged with kidnapping and aggravated assualt break & enter. He was in jail until the 5th jan when the courts came back to work & he posted bail for many thousands.
he now has a barrister & will get off the charges as they were all false, but not after leaking about 80k into the legals sytem. He cannot go near his daughters until it is resolved. he cannot apply for custody until any marks against his character are removed as they will jeopardise his chances. Court action will take most of the year as each charge is treated differently & she keeps stalling the process. Seems wife had restraint marks on her arms that were from boyfriend but she used them against hubby knowing full well it would levae him crippled legally.
Luckily he was re-instated in his job as he did not turn up over xmas & nobody knew where he was & his family is financially backing him.
Made my troubles fade in comparison.
