Well bowled, kane left it too late, should have gone harder earlier instead of looking for the hundred.

Harsh but fair.

I think Chapman, CDG, Nicholls, Latham should all be pelted with infested rock melons for an hour without pause. Those merkins conspired with an all too unbelievable concoction of sheer unadulterated stupidity and absolute cricket club cricket level inability to play top grade.

The dumbest of all for mine are Chapman and CDG. Classless merkins of epic proportions.

CDG’s dismissal was utter stupidity and one of the dumbest dismissals I’ve seen in recent times. Slow, turning wicket and he comes in thinks I’m going to belt one out of the park after facing 2 balls.

Pretty harsh - not sure he was looking for the 100, he had to get to the last two once Santner was (unfortunately) dismissed

I am really happy with some aspects of that performance, bowling and fielding was great - Williamson's innings on that wicket was outstanding and Santner has realised he can bat... Guptill and CG were moronic, Nicholls incompetent (bizarrely thinking when he missed the ball by a food that someone thought he'd hit it - he had no idea whatsoever), and Latham, well, that can happen I guess. Munro needs to play like a batter, not like a #10 - his strike rate will be up high if he just bats

While it was a substandard wicket, why not have wickets like this - the game was exciting, and batsmen had to work rather than flog through the line

I will be glad when the test series starts. Had too many ODI"s and 20/20's the past 2 months.
It's just the T20s that annoy me - pointless bullshit, at least ODI's resemble real cricket.

Tests worry me, f**kwits seem obsessed with Nicholls at 5, and then a platoon of the keeper (hope Watling is ready, Blundell isn't really that good) and two further bats out of their depth (Santner and CDG)

I'm no Munro fan, but to me he's a much better option, as are any number of others

Agree the mind boggles on selections.

It's like every rare occasion Nicholls gets a 40-60 score, listen to the commentators, they trot out the "this innings should secure his place for another series". In test cricket he is very very ordinary.

Munros FC record speaks for itself. There's other blokes too. Will Young. Even Tom Bruce. But the selectors seem hell bent on HN.

I remember Niccolls sweeping Maharaj and part time spinners like Elgar for his first and only test century at the Basin last year, and Ian Smith said something of the like that you've described. Irksome.

Munro is well overdue a 2nd test match. And for his brain fades and reckless batting on good pitches, I've seen him out do many NZ batsmen repeatedly on difficult low scoring pitches in t20 and odi. There is some decent batting talent in Munro. That said, I have no qualms about him slogging a filthy hundred in test cricket neither. Its not like Niccolls is a match saving bat out day 5 anyway.
