England in New Zealand: 5 game ODI series - ENGLAND WIN SERIES 3-2

It's just the T20s that annoy me - pointless bullshit, at least ODI's resemble real cricket.

Tests worry me, f**kwits seem obsessed with Nicholls at 5, and then a platoon of the keeper (hope Watling is ready, Blundell isn't really that good) and two further bats out of their depth (Santner and CDG)

I'm no Munro fan, but to me he's a much better option, as are any number of others

Niccolls is getting better, but he is probably always going to be limited as a batsman like George Worker given where they are at now. He needs width and long hops to play his best shots to seamers and intl bowlers are not giving this to him regularly enough. He can only force his lovely cut shot so much before he gets bowled, likewise he can only force his pull shot before he is cramped up and he serves a dolly of a catch.

Latham may play well in Asia and on turners in Hamilton well, but that isn't our typical pitch type in NZ. I'd seriously drop him down the order to get him away from the new ball and open in tests with Manu and Raval in the most 2 opposites batting partnership seen in test cricket history.

Will Young isn't the answer. And Tom Bruce, despite me being a big fan of his, just hasn't been consistent enough in his t20i games to give the selectors confidence in a test berth. He needs a truck load of runs in domestic cricket now.

33yo Greg Hay is an opener in good form, too. A rarity for NZC. Most NZ openers are walking wickets.

Englands openers showing Southee and Boult that aren't the freebie wickets that the Pakistanis and West Indians were. Copping an awful flogging currently. Teeing off with impunity.

I saw on FB that Sodhi was no-balled for his action?? Reminded me that the game was on anyway.

And it's looking ugly for NZ

2 big wickets in 2 overs....problem is there's so many in the shed. Buttler is a big wicket for nought but then out walks a Morgan or a Stokes

Lol England. Do they not realise you can still take nine or ten balls just knocking it around and getting your eye in before you try and hit absolutely everything into orbit?

Still a huge score on if Stokes uses his brain

Well I get the feeling it's not very large, it's probably quite easy to misplace...

This has been awful cricket from England since the Bairstow wicket. The bowling has been decent but what happened to knocking it around and then punishing the bad balls (at least until you get going)?

No respite for NZ though...it's time for the man himself, the legendary Chris Woakes

I see Santner dropped another dolly... how can you get to international cricket and be such an atrocious fielder?

We could ask Henry Nicholls but he'd be clueless on it.

Woakes and Ali's dismissals perhaps stupider than CDG's in the last game...

Root must think he's on an acid trip

Root 100 and out

I missed the front half, but they really have collapsed badly for no particular reason

It just goes to show that the all out assault approach is actually quite fallible IMO.

Yeah ok they've got 300 thanks to the start they got (and thanks in no small part to NZs fielding apparently) but they've also lost 7/41. Realistically if they just held back when Morgan came out and had this period of two or three overs of mostly singles with 13 left, they probably set themselves back up for 370 odd.

They look like being bowled out now. Good nut that. That's like 8/50 odd now

Agree, when it comes off, wow, levers, toys etc. When it doesn't its catastrophic.

I can see England imploding in the world cup with this approach
