It's just the T20s that annoy me - pointless bullshit, at least ODI's resemble real cricket.
Tests worry me, f**kwits seem obsessed with Nicholls at 5, and then a platoon of the keeper (hope Watling is ready, Blundell isn't really that good) and two further bats out of their depth (Santner and CDG)
I'm no Munro fan, but to me he's a much better option, as are any number of others
Niccolls is getting better, but he is probably always going to be limited as a batsman like George Worker given where they are at now. He needs width and long hops to play his best shots to seamers and intl bowlers are not giving this to him regularly enough. He can only force his lovely cut shot so much before he gets bowled, likewise he can only force his pull shot before he is cramped up and he serves a dolly of a catch.
Latham may play well in Asia and on turners in Hamilton well, but that isn't our typical pitch type in NZ. I'd seriously drop him down the order to get him away from the new ball and open in tests with Manu and Raval in the most 2 opposites batting partnership seen in test cricket history.
Will Young isn't the answer. And Tom Bruce, despite me being a big fan of his, just hasn't been consistent enough in his t20i games to give the selectors confidence in a test berth. He needs a truck load of runs in domestic cricket now.
33yo Greg Hay is an opener in good form, too. A rarity for NZC. Most NZ openers are walking wickets.
