Taylor goes for it and gets out. Put that down to Satner and his inept batting putting to much pressure on Taylor to do it all.

Having that photo of Rod Tucker really adds an extra dimension. Like all cricket fans, I've always wondered, 'what does the 3rd umpire look like?'

Makes it easier to egg his house when he gets a decision wrong. A move I'm in favour of.

Lovely match winning innings by the NZ #8.

I'm pleased that Latham finally got a score at home this summer, albeit on a slow turning pitch - which are not typically his weakness that the faster pitches are.

Taylor - just class.

I missed the death bowling by NZ - but I hear they closed it out well.

Doull being snarky about Jurgenson

I'm no fan but he just parroted off meaningless truisms like Doull and friends do session after session

I am not a Doull fan, but if he is giving it to Jurgo - then fair enough. I'd rather Mills to Jurgo if we can't afford Bond.

Santner came to the party well. Pretty ordinary bowling though, Santner was so leg side oriented that any time it was on the off side he was jamming it to fielders. The full leg side rubbish went right into his arc. For his own confidence Santner needed that innings.

I'm really pleased Santner came through - finally - he does have talent with the bat, but glaring weaknesses too - nonetheless worth his place in white ball cricket for his bowling alone.

I still wouldn't have him in the test team, let alone in a platoon # 6 role with Colin - 8 is about the right spot for him until he shows more than glimpses of talent

He's also a real conundrum in the field - great ground fielding and attrocious catching, so you don't want to hide him, but you kind of do

Anyway, as Haynetrain would note:
Santner 1 : Woakes 0

He was in a weird way - Jurgo did an interview and said f**k all, Doull ridiculed that - yet with McMillan and Hesson give interviews and say f**k all there's no ridicule...

I get that Jurgo is probably an ordinary coach, but call that out, don't get petty - I am not sure his mate Macca is any better or worse TBH
