For discussion on this game

Bloody 2 day games. Might as well refer to it as a glorified net session.

Its a sat/sun game

I say we win the toss, open with hussey and mcdonald

As soon as 1st wicket falls we abandon the game, and the squad go on a sightseeing trip over the weekend

Gives the bowlers a day and the batsmen a day of practice in the middle, not the greatest but late in the series it was probably what could fit in best to the schedule as they are supposed to have 3 days off between matches these days

This game was originally against a county side but they made the T20 finals which must be on the weekend

The Lions side will be interesting, they either use it for some practice of a couple of out form players or another look at a couple close to selection, or they could even pick an experienced team they think could test the Aussies, would also assume no players from the counties in the T20 finals would be playing which rules out Key, Denly, Trescothick, Joyce, Luke Wright, Panesar and Caddick

As for Australia, 2 day game so probably no limit on players, could see Hilfenhaus and Siddle sit out, Lee comes in as would McDonald, maybe even give Hughes a hit? Manou probably in place of Haddin, Hauritz to get a run as well, some say Johnson has to keep playing

team I expect to be named

1 Hughes
2 Watson
3 Katich (struggled a little)
4 Hussey
5 McDonald
6 Manou
7 Johnson
8 Lee
9 Hauritz
10 Siddle
11 Clark

Get them to all have a decent bowl, I still feel that only hilfy has controlled the ball well all tour. Basically if Lee bowls well he has to be included and if Clark out performs Siddle I would play him or play both if Lee doesn't fire. Get Watson and Hauri to bowl a bit aswell... I would not bring hughesy back into the team for the last test but tell him to find some form because if he is scoring runs he will be back in the team in no time.

Wow.

We could win this one.

What a poor side. If that's England A then I don't know.

6 or so counties are playing other matches on the weekend so their players werent included, also seems to leave out a couple of players who the selectors know what they can do like Sidebottom and Ramps

Trott, Moore, Davies and Plunkett probably about the only 4 who you would normally expect to be there

Bloody Watson is in some fine form. He really needs to go on and get a ton though.

he's definitely in form but that bowling attack wouldn't really strike the fear of god into any batsman
