Didn't France have 7 players out..??..Weren't they missing the likes of Fakir, Raguin, Stacul..??..For some reason Rinaldi wasn't even selected...!!

Maybe they'll gell as a team when the 4N comes around and the tourny gets started..Maybe France should look at a warm up match between one of the Celtic nations..??

I knew the young England side would be impressive. The old farts probably wouldn't have produced a win like that. It's just like the England side that played Wales last year. Give the young blokes a chance and they shine, whereas put the same old hacks into a game like this and not only are they slower but they are less motivated. Another terrible result for France though. THeir place in the 4N really has to be questioned. Playing the big three might help them but then again getting tonked every game might do more harm than good and it is sure to be another black eye for the reputation of IRL.

I think they have to persevere with France, ECT, it's imperitave for the game at the International level...

I mean, Italy got a 50 point flogging against France in Yawnions 6N and they aren't going anywhere...

I think France had too many players out + a bewildering non selection, so even though it was a embarrasing scoreline, and I'm sure they won't win a match in the 4N, the RLIF has to keep the faith..

I also think the RLIF are doing now - with 4N, regular WCs and Pac and European Cups - they should have done 10 years ago, but they are making a concerted effort and perserverence and promotion are required..

They were missing Fakir, Ferriol, Elima, Raguin, Pelo, Rinaldi and Stacul who are all top line players, and others like Greseque were also absent.

Rinaldi wasn't playing because he is trying to earn a longer term deal with Bradford. Last year Eric Anselme missed a Leeds game because of the Test and then couldn't get back in the team and got released. There was a risk of the same thing happening to Rinaldi if he had played.

Well done to Tony Smith for giving some youngsters the chance to show what they can do and it puts the onus back on more experienced players like Burrow, Pryce & Gleeson etc that if they really want to play International footy then they have to play really well and earn it - something that hasn't happened for far too long.

For England there is a few more youngsters not far behind this lot, certainly Tom Briscoe looked made for test footy prior to injury.
