I believe they scrapped that rule to allow islanders to play for their parents nation without losing the chance of playing origin.
Don't really know much SL players but that looks like a strong England team with Sam Burgess in there... What do you guys think of the English team? Wanna know what my Samoan team are up against
Yeh but that was for "tier 2" nations, NZ and England internationals aren't able to represent Australia at all so therefor no Origin?
Shouldn't be the case if you ask me, anyone who meets the fairly strict criteria rules for Origin should be able to play regardless of their national allegiance. Ponga is a prime example from another thread, should be able to play for QLD given he meets the criteria without it being the deciding factor on whether he chooses Australia or NZ.
How f**king old is Heighington? What is the point of bringing him back in to the England set up at this stage of his career?
Also assume this makes McQueen ineligible for Origin?
I definitely won't be watching now
I bet you still watch!
bet i don't
just looking at the squad in greater detail...mcmeeken,whitehead and mcqueen are all wide running number 12s why pick 3 players the same?

decent side that, big bench too....and look,no 2nd rate aussies, there was absolutely no need to pick them,no need for the negativity its brought...its led the sports news today! that a aussie has been selected for england! we've litterally gone back 5 years...
How does a national body/coach think that picking 2 players who aren't good enough to play in Australia's selection trial are good enough to beat Australia?
Feel sorry for whichever 2 English players who missed the squad for those 2 plods.
