The Reds were killed before the Settlement...SL's reasing was two-fold:

1-It cost too much to fly three teams cross-country every week.
2-Someone needed to make way for the Storm.

Sydney's at the heart of the Comp, and we are the Bread and Butter. Hell, NQLD might get 20k to a match but they still need News Corp to prop them up. The Sooner people understand that practically all the money comes from Sydney (And to a lesser extent the SeQLD corridor) the better.

Yes and I am wondering why they did nothing to bring them back after the SL war. If they spent all that time and money to make a team there in the first place surely they would've been more active in promoting a team there instead of re-admitting a team in the already congested Sydney market.

I never said they did. But the NRL is the evolution of the NSWRL and SL. It stands to reason that if they were going to be re-admitted it would be with the NRL.

The ARL was broke...Why didn't News Limited continue to prop them up?

Unlike The Out of Sydney Clubs, the Majority of Sydney Clubs were capable of keeping thier heads just above the water, with minimal assistance from the Organising Body of the game...

Souths were admitted after a court case by the NRL. The NRL and the NSWRL have no afilliation whatsoever. Sort of like your hands and your brain.

with the reds, the consortium that the NSWRL encouraged and admitted, dies when Traitor League and NEWS withdrew funding. Quite simply, no one elsecame forwrad torun it. Besides, the News element of the NRL would have vetoed it.

Just as they vetoed Souths move to Adelaide. So it's your beloved News LTD that let Souths in and made then play in inner Sydney.
