Huh ?
The original article referred to him as Leadbeater all the way through.

they were actually saying they were talking to him as a consultant during the election. They never denied that they were asking him questions from his 30 years experience so not to make the fundamentals errors which plagued the last lot, like appointing directors who were not even eligible.
They have been consistent in denying he has direct influence over the majority even going as far as saying that it has created a split with one who has been getting too close to DF influence.

Maybe I missed that but I don't remember it. I remember ParraFirst trying to distance themselves from Fitzy like the plague. Also Sharps appearance of 2SM where he flat out denied Fitzy involvement in the club business doesn't look so rock solid now.
Anyway the circus continues on with new actors. Where will it end? it won't. It's a feature of democratically elected parties. Especially when only a few hundred people vote. Most being friends, families or other invested people that have the ability to artificially affect the outcome.
Sounds fair enough to me. Time to shut up and take your medicine, 3P.telegraph article said:Bulldog: Sharp told me last week that factions at Parramatta were working behind-the-scenes to damage the club. Do you agree?
Fitzgerald: Certainly I am aware there are supporters of the previous board led by Roy Spagnolo who appear to be putting stumbling blocks in the way of the new board, who are trying to improve things at the Parramatta NRL club and Parramatta Leagues Club.
Bulldog: If those factions are trying to under-mine the club, it’s disgraceful.
Fitzgerald: Yes, no-one would be happy with that situation. I think the sooner Roy Spagnolo and (former Leagues Club and current football director) Mario Libertini, to name two, resign from positions on the district football club board, the better-off the organisation would be. When I was there, we had 30-years of consistent management and a very stable board.
Bulldog: Do you think Sharp was referring to Spagnolo when he told of those factions?
Fitzgerald: Yes.
Bulldog: Spagnolo ran an embarrassing tenth in voting at the Leagues Club elections. The members have spoken. Should he walk away?
Fitzgerald: I would certainly suggest that would be in the best interests of the club.
Fitzgerald definitely isn't manipulating the board. Dean Ritchie asked him and he said no.
