I didn't think it was a very good song and I didn't think the clip was that good, either - too generic.

Having said that...it was based on some Timberlake song, wasn't it? If so, it's not something I'd be familiar with and so the subtext (and ability o actually appreciate the clip/song) is not something I can actually appreciate.

I think that was the point Hollywood, to take the piss out of boy band types, which they can do all they like. I can't stand boy bands, like you say, they're too generic.
