From a PR perspective, that press conference has been, in hindsight, an unmitigated disaster. If it was followed by a series of good performances it could be viewed differently. Still, in hindsight, I would have encouraged the club not to make the grandiose statements it did - I am happy enough for them to talk about the investments they are making to the Warriors and local rugby league scene, you put the right investment in often you'll get a good pay off. There should always be an aim to have the best infrastructure for a rugby league club - particularly with the finances they have at their disposal. But don't speak about the results before its proven, get in, do the hard yards, and then see the end results. The focus should have always been about the vision in the board room forcing accountability on those who were charged with delivering it, but from a media coverage perspective they should have left at it focusing on the inputs.
