Did anyone catch them on 110% Tony Squires last night? They were absolutely shit, very disappointing. What was with that tosspot on drums? Why isnt Joel drumming?
I actually quite like the band, their new cd is actually really quite good, much better than their last effort, Girl, which was atrocious.

RF, just sounded really offkey to me. They sang From The Sea, he just couldnt get the notes right.
What do you think of the new cd?
Ive got the Sweater EP somewhere at home. I thought their first album would be similar to that, but they were really dull songs on there. I lsitened to it twice and havent touched it since

Yeah, they weren't very good on 110% Tony Squires.

And I was thinking about going to see them live :?

I liked Girl (at least the first half of the CD anyway) but I haven't heard their new CD yet. Anyone care to write a review? :D

astro I'll write you a detailed review tonight!

I've seen them live before and they were really quite good, mind you that was about 4 years ago now. They put on a very energetic show and spoke to crowd quite a lot. Their sogns were all really fun. With Girl in particular they went with a more seriosu approach than their EP's. I think the new cd is kinda similar to the general feeling of Girl, but much better written

Yeah but FM, your taste in music is shithouse anyway :p

You're right, it was gimmicky stuff, but thast the stuff I used to love when I was 17-18ish. Thats when I saw them live and they were awesome! The Sweater song, Turn Up Your Stereo, Coco Pops, Playstation, the one about cars, SMO. They were funny songs that made me laugh. You cant tell me you dont love the Sweater song FM.

I have had a listen to Girl, and it's not a bad effort. I like "From The Sea" as well... but they don't attract me enough to go out and buy any of their stuff...

ok, geez, looking back, its hard to imagine that I wrote such horrible things about the band!

Miccle and I saw them Saturday night, and apart from a couple of minor technical glitches, they were amazing! They played a really good mix of songs from both Girl and A Song Is A City. All night I was waiting for something from the old days - Sweater, Turn Up Your Stereo, SMO - they all would have been good choices- but when they finally did play an old song from their first EP it turned out to be a similar style to their current efforts (cant recall what it was called).
Everyone seemed to really get into it, which was great to see.

I'm still confused as to why joel isnt drumming anymore, he is a great drummer imo.

I've been put onto this band by a very good friend of mine, and I have quickly become a devoted fan. They are a very talented bunch with a knack for producing a catchy melody. Quality fo sho.
