Talk is TR will be a Honda team on its own and RB will be moving to a new supplier (Aston Martin front runner, Audi/Lamborghini an option also, but not a strong one)

Hondas last foray into F1 was a disaster(who remembers the Earth car with its carbon neutral gaga??).
Admittedly Merc were working on their V6 for many years prior to 2014 but Honda are 4 years in(1 year of development). McLaren have just run out of patience and are desparate to keep Alonso for fear of following the path of Williams(probably a bit dramatic but relevant nonetheless). The tie up with TR/RBR will create plenty of headline because Marko & Horner aren't shy about bagging their engine supplier(just ask Renault). It's interesting times as this shuffling is a small play prior to the new engine regs in 2020 where a few more options are likely to be on the table(Audi, Porsche etc).
On to Singapore & DR looks in good touch.

Evolved into Brawn.

Went ok.

Used merc engines though, which is another ominous reminder.

Interesting that mchonda have just run 4 & 5 in fp3 at Singapore which is their best session result in memory ( welll my memory anyway)

True. But they were helped by the double diffuser in 09.

McHonda have had some good practice times but minimal laps helps.

Qualy just about to start. Should be good

Vettel pulls out a pair of stunning times in Q3 to get Pole from Max and Danny.

Mercs back in 5th and 6th behind Kimi

Williams didn't get out of Q1.

McLaren's made it to Q3.

Ferrari were clearly sandbagging through practice. Unless one of the Bulls makes a flyer off the start and is able to lead then Vettel will walk away with this one.

Max is always aggressive at the start and vettel has everything to lose. DR should be in the prime spot to gain.

Ferrari blamed Verstappen. In the end, Vettel didn't see Kimi's brilliant start, but neither gave Verstappen room and it was never going to end well.

Vettel is a bit like Rosberg nowadays. Is tough to beat when he is top of the championship, but crumbles like a sao when he has to chase.

Aston Martin ups it's investment in Red Bull - But not willing to supply an engine yet.

Aston are waiting to find out what the regulations in 2021 will be like, which could happen at the end of this year. The problem for Red Bull is that Riccardo won't and can't wait that long. Can't see Honda being excited about supplying engines to RB for 3 years. They'll likely just buy out Toro Rosso and make it a Honda team.

Aston Martin uses Mercedes engines these days anyways don't they? Good luck RB in getting a Merc engine in your car.

They should have tried to get Lamborghini onside. They are owned by Audi and apparently the Audi boss has zero interest in F1, but Lambo has always been curious and open to the idea, if only to compete with Ferrari.

I can see Riccardo leaving RB at the end of next year. Mercedes will chase him very hard as apparently he gets on well with Hamilton.

Just watched loose drain lid put Grosjean into the wall and end the P2 session. Grosjean walked away fine.

Crazy situation.

Pretty sure a similar thing happened to Alonso in Brazil & someone(Button, I think) at Monaco in years past. They will have the welder out fixing that pretty quickly.
