Lol'ing at Liverpool aside for a moment.

Is it in Wigans best interests to decline playing in Europe from the championship? It's hard to imagine they have the squad to sustain the championship season and Europe and avoiding doing a wolves is much more important.

After 120 mins... Fulham 0 - 1 Sheffield United

The magic of the cup strikes again...

Insane way the fixtures have lined up for this weekend.

What are the odds that the top 4 teams in the premier league play each other in the last 16. While two teams that could be relegated from the championship play each other, and a championship team plays a team that looks like being relegated to league two. Crazy strokes of luck like that is why I love the cup.

My picks to go through:

Sunderland-Southampton
Cardiff-Wigan
Sheffield Wed-Charlton
City-Chelsea
Everton-Swansea
Sheffield United-Nottingham
Arsenal-Liverpool
Brighton and Hove-Hull

Whatever happens there will only be two big teams in the last 8 and a lot of potential Cinderella stories.

Liverpool v whoever wins out of Citeh and Chelsea will be a pretty good final, whenever it is

The remaining big teams could play each other in the quarter or semis.

Like last season, City-Chelsea was one semi and Wigan-Millwall was the other.

I know. That's what I meant by 'whenever it is'

Whoever wins on Saturday night will be deserved favorites for the cup. Their subsequent tie against Liverpool will effectively be the final

Define strongest. Wenger said there'll be multiple changes. Doesn't mean that the side will be weaker (at least intentionally)

By strongest I mean the best possible XI, us starting Aspas, Alberto etc would not be the strongest.

I'd be happy playing the second stringers. Qualifying for the UCL is the priority and it'll be nice to congest the Goners fixtures that little bit more.

Yeah I'd rest Sturridge, Gerrard etc
We know Suarez is going to play though, wants to play every game

We're hosting the European champions 3 days after this game, that's the priority.

For the FA cup:
Flamini will be back, so Arteta out.
I dare say, Lord Bendtner will start

Ozil should be rested. Podolski should start

Liverpool have no excuse to rest players, their next EPL game is Sunday week.

I'm sure the players will cope with only 1 week rest

I'd still rest Gerrard, Sturridge and Coutinho for 3 youngsters. 3 of the more injury prone in recent times and vital to EPL race.
