Liverpool did play a near full strength team and still lost. And bullshit Webb saved us. Yes he might have not given a soft penalty but Gerrard also deserved about 3 yellow cards and only got 1. If he was carded properly I bet they wouldn't have earned 1 penalty and one potential penalty with 10 men.

Sanogo surprised me, the kid has a lot of potential. He is big and fast, he could go a long way if he stays healthy.

Also imagine Sheffield playing in Europe from League two. The magic of the Cup.

Okay, but don't act all high mighty with an attitude that 'we comprehensively outplayed a full strength liverpool team'. Seriously, it was looking like 5-1 all over again until a lucky goal calmed down your nervous as f*** team. Sturridge had an off day in a team that generally looked a lot more threatening. Credit to Arsenal for managing the win, but it was one of those weird games when the team with all the run of play somehow didn't win. Maybe Webb didn't cost us (I wrote that high up in anger straight after the match finished).

Liverpool were lucky to get that first penalty, Webb made the decision but probably saw on the replay how easy Suarez went down from Podolski's minimal contact, and that would've been in the back of his his mind the second time Suarez went down and rolled around like his leg needed to be amputated.

I was disappointed that Rodgers didn't give Webb an absolute bollocking in the press conference though, the prick deserves it.

Bottom line is if your mate Webby carded properly you wouldn't have been in a position to earn either of those penalties.

Losing any game in any cup or tournament sucks but all I care about this year is the premier league. Not going to lose sleep over this loss, the 5-1 win meant much more.

Webb is experienced enough to be able to see past the hysterics Suarez went through after the challenge, to realise it was a clear-as-day penalty. Again, he's experienced enough to know that he shouldn't ignore a penalty just because he gave another one a short time ago. That's not how the game works Webb. You make decisions according to what's happened in front of you.

It does play a part, but the fact Webb couldn't see past it displays ineptitude. Incompetency.

That was his 3rd yellow worthy act IMO. His 1st yellow should have been his 2nd. Before that he kicked a knee. Could have ended a season.

Can't disagree with that. If you have history of being a cheating diving merkin you are going to miss out on decisions at times because of that.

Those players only have themselves to blame that the officials have that influencing their decisions.

Those players only have themselves to blame that the officials have that influencing their decisions.
