I agree. You can't be expecting these kids to come in and have complete games. It's going to take time. Latu will create heaps for us if he stays on the field. It's just the dumb mistakes that will kill us. I don't think Luai has been great for us but he hasn't been taking the wrong option way too often like Galvin has been. We don't need Latu to come in and start putting in dodgy kicks and poor passes.

Hopefully when he does come back from injury he'll he a team first player and play a supporting role while he gets used to first grade and develops his game over time. We'll need to be patient like you said 05. Just as long as he doesn't have a massive sook about playing second fiddle to a 4 time premiership winner.

He already has a better highlight reel than Galvin from just a handful of first grade games!. Let him know he's wanted and lock him in longterm

I don't blame the Tigers for wanting to extend Api. I also don't blame TDS for not wanting to wait around (if the rumours are true). Just one of the those things.

Tend to agree, but he's 20yo he's not ready to be a full-time 9, there ego's are getting the better of them.
He is no where near Api in skill and fitness.

I agree with you TM. Young people today are very impatient though, and if you asked TDS he'd (more than likely) tell that he'd be ready to start 1st grade and go well at the start of 2027.

I suppose seeing it from his point of view, your career isn't all that long, and catastrophic injury can happen at any time. You need to max out the coin you earn, and also the amount of time you're playing the game at the highest level.

TIGERS FIND THEIR NEW NO.6

It seems Benji Marshall may have found his new halves pairing in Latu Fainu and Jarome Luai.

The No.6 jersey went up for grabs following Lachlan Galvin’s exit and while Heath Mason was given first shot at it, Latu Fainu has all but secured it after a statement performance in the second half.

Fainu returned from injury last week via the bench and again started Friday’s clash on the pine. He was injected into the game in the 26th minute to play lock before shifting to five-eighth in the 52nd minute with Mason coming from the field.

The 20-year-old thrived in the halves, setting up Starford To’a for a try less than a minute after shifting positions.

Given how much better the Tigers looked with Fainu in the halves, James Graham believes it’s a no-brainer that he stays there going forward.

“I know they’ve re-signed Heath Mason, but next week your six and seven are the ones that finished the game.”

Kevin Walters agreed saying, “he changed the whole way the Tigers were playing,” while Greg Alexander added, “they could’t tackle him, he was a handful.”

He is so much better than Galvin at this point it isn't funny.

We are still losing games though and our season is fast going nowhere.

Benji has to make some changes and get this team winning games.

I thought all 3 had their best games of the season yesterday. Latu looks a real gooden, remember the long term plan was always him and Romey in the halves, before the Galvin sideshow took over.

They were glaringly impressive.Sione has been a revelation & Latu is one heck of a talent.He has all the weapons to be a long term elite half.What a super talented family & to think that the brother in the clink is arguably the best of the lot.

I had my doubts but I’ve seen enough, he needs to be in the side. His defence has some sting, and he looks as though he prefers to play straight, big pluses for a half, especially given our halves have been running our outside backs into the sideline for the past 15 rounds. He doesn’t look fit though (as fit as he should be). Should send him to my place during the summer
