I challange you to post up some examples of Sheens supporters being frowned upon! You well find plenty here that like Sheens and can post away happily as to their reasons why they do, its when Sheens non supporters are continualy called " So called supporters" and " unloyal" is when ppl take ofence.
How many Tigers supporters liked Terry Lamb as a coach, bugger all i bet and i also bet those that didnt like him as coach didnt believe they were unloyal. So why is it dif because we arent fans of Sheens.
Spot on.

Most, if not all, of my mates that I go to the games with all love Sheens. I don't, and I haven't since 2006. We've had many discussions over a beer about it and I don't see how having differing opinions on an interweb message board is any different. I still go to the games, buy the merchandise and spend a fair chunk of my spare time on the net reading up on things relating to the Tigers so I get offended by being called "lesser fans" or "so called fans" and the like.

It's a poor state of affairs when expressing support for Sheens is frowned upon on this forum.

The alternative is to join the anti-sheens brigade for verbal blow jobs all round.
Well I'll be jiggered - you mean there's an alternative? I'd have thought there were any number of alternatives. Maybe you haters need to keep reminding yourselves that we are black, white and gold these days. It's not just black and white any more...

Going back to Ol' Blammo's comments - yeah it's true that teams who don't cheat have trouble hanging onto their Grand Final heroes. But teams who don't ask for more of their coach tend to find themselves on the scrapheap more often than not.

No one doubts it's a tough competition, but no one in here claims the Tigers aren't good enough. No one really expects to win premierships at a dramatic or alarming rate... But everyone wants to be in the running, and when you've got Benji Marshall and Robbie Farah in the side there's really no reason why we should not be up there for keeps. The problems come back to recruitment and treatment of players.

There's been a bit of a change to the way Sheens does things this year - there has been less experimentation with playmakers and all that. He's cut some of the dead wood. He's got us a specialist fullback, a gun winger, he's taking a bit more care of his pigs... He's brought in Folkes to run the bastards around a little more than they're used to. All things he should be given credit for - and look... we're in the finals!

Is it any wonder we look back at the last four seasons and ask - what exactly is it that you've been trying to achieve, Mr Sheens?

If Sheens walks at the end of the year I'll be happy. I hope he does it after we win the Grand Final. If he stays, and he keeps us on our current path, then so be it. If he stays and we fall in a heap again, then he should be sent straight to a noted taxidermists and put on a pedestal for all he's enabled our team to achieve.

In that case, he should be kept in the lobby, and never ever wheeled out to the training paddock again. I don't care how many heroes of '69 or '05 are giving photo op's to the assembled press, he just shouldn't be allowed near it...

Firstly, find us the posts here where anyone has said they hate the tigers.

Secondly, Yes it's great that Sheens got us a premiership, but I'd expect that after getting a premiership it wouldn't take another 5 years before making the finals again. The criticism of him is fair, justified and neccessary.

First of all i didnt use the word hate in that post, i said negative comments.

Do you accept mediocrity in the rest of your life as well?

I challenge to show any evidence that all the posters here don’t love the Tigers win or lose as much as you claim to.

You say you are happy seeing us challenge for the trophy once a decade. For some of us that is not good enough because we know the club can be so much more than also rans for 9 years every decade.

I also didnt say i wanna see my team only challenge for the Trophy once a decade, what i said is im happy to see my team hold up the trophy once a decade.

Im a Balmain Tigers Supporter who embraced the merger, and after the heartache of the 89 Grand Final to final see my team hold up the trophy in 05 was amazing, first time i had seen it in my lifetime.

If i dont see that again till 2015 i will still be a happy man, it doesnt mean i wouldn't love to see it in 2010, 2011 or 2012, damn i can only wish but in the end i love the game and i love the team and although i may have opinions on certain decisions made by our players and coach i will not sit there and put them down on a week by week basis.

I apologise, you said 'many people here claim to love the club'

In essence you were criticising if they actually did love the club.

you followed it with 'but all I hear is negative comments and put downs'

The fact you starte with a term like love and then went on a counter argument is very easily construed as you suggesting that people here who bag the coach do not love the club.

And what is the opposite of Love?

Pretty fair assumption to make based on your post.

Do you think your boss would allow you to heep working for him for 5 years when, for the entirety of those 5 years you kept making the same several, crucial mistakes, over and over again.

Furthermore, if you were doing that, do you think you'd be worthy of a raise or a contract extension?

I'm sorry, but if you think that criticism=no love for the tigers then you are way off the mark.

The fact we are all here and showing frustration is a sign we do love the club, frustration at poor performances. If we didn't love the club we'd be all in here laughing and joking and saying how wonderful the coach is.

for f**ks sake man, have a f**king think about it.

Blindly accepting sh*thouse performances does not make one a magnificent supporter. It makes you a stupid supporter who doesn't care as much as those who get frustrated and angry after a poor performance.

Mate you right, in a workplace that wouldnt be accepted, but thats our management who are f**king up and thats where most of the anger or frustration should be directed.

But for now he is our coach, and some people here actually criticise him on stuff he does wrong but i do see certain people in the tigers forum who seem to get enjoyment out of putting Sheens down or the players, they are the minority yes but to me anyone who gets any level of enjoyment out of putting down our head coach or a player isnt a true fan.

But this year we have made the finals, Possibly even a Home Semi and even a Week off if we win in week one, lets forget about the dissapointment of the past 4 seasons and look at what we have now.

Whatever has happened this year we are a better team, i agree with other we win ugly most games but we win, last year they couldnt win ugly and i think we owe that change to the coaching staff, Probably Folkes more than anyone but f**k guys, as supporters we have waited 5 years to see our Tigers in the Semis, lets stop the negative stuff for 5 weeks and just enjoy

We will be enjoying the finals, but in all honesty, we shouldn't have to wait half a decade for every finals appearance.

Certainly not with the talent we have at our club.

There as been some well written replies in this thread ( and some over the top ones as well ) and i hope Balmo etc does have a change of heart and attitude,, we all have differing oppinions but ALL support one club.
Go the Tig's

I'm with you, mate. But I think it's gonna take a minute or two to make the shift. We're still a couple of weeks out from the finals and we still have two crucial games ahead of us. The proof will be in the pudding as far as I'm concerned... We have two benchmark teams to play and we can either keep on a good run of form, or we could fall apart in classic fashion. If we can't keep up with the Titans next week then I'm afraid we wont push that far into the finals. At this stage, going on what I've seen this year, I'm nothing but nervous about our chances...

Sheens has positioned the club to a point where our juniors from Wests, Balmain, Keebra Park SHS and country replace departing NRL players.

A Storm forum mentioned the talent of Dwyer, Murdoch-Masila and co and the depth of talent in the club.

Saves spending huge dollars on imports and serves as an incentive for our juniors who now realise there is a career sticking with the Campbelltown/Macathur/Balmain club.
