There is just too much Politicall Correctness today. If you go to the footy and expect everyone to just sit down and shut the hell up then what are you doing there.

The large flags that could once be found at every Rugby League ground in Sydney where something unique in the sporting landscape of Australia. We shouldn’t be banning them.

Wests Tigers Fanatics went to the Wests Tigers at the end of 2004 and suggested that a bay be reserved at Telstra Stadium for the Fanatics. The end result is that ALL our flags are allowed in (including the two +5m ones) and the bay is on the 20m line. The area is GA and we are given preference. So if the flags and banners take up 200seats then 200 seats are taken up. Obviously we are very respectful of the other supporters and do not keep the flags up all the time, but if anyone has an issue with flags at all in that section then there is nothing they can do. Its very fair and so far there have been no complaints and only many positive remarks! It shows that a club can work with its fans to get the basics right!

As for Leichhardt and Cambo games, we are ALWAYS at the back of the hill's so to not block anyone's view. That rule applies for all our away games. We always sit at the back of any stand or hill and always try to be in a spot that does not block anyone's view.

So far it has been a 100% postive year!

The problem is that for all the guys and girls who do the right thing and stand or sit towards the rear of the Bays, there are just as many who want to wave their flags with no regard for the people around them. They only end up spoiling it for the rest.

Parra's policy may also be the result of some issue in the past where someone may have been hurt by a long pole and they ended up getting sued. I'm not saying that definitely happened, just that these things usually happen for a reason, and that reason can usually be avoided if people are reasonable and respectful of those around them.

Well the ppl at the sydney football stadium dont mind if we have big flags and banners in the pen as long as we dont annoy anyone at the game with it.

And I was wondering if it was one of you tigers fans that were walking across the northen end of aussie stadium in rd 4 with the big flags.

Flags are f***ed. Buy a jersey if you want to show a bit of spirit but piss the flags off some people want to see.

& there is always something going on on the footy field. Even when there is not. & we've paid to see that too.

If you want to be a flagboy/girl do it at home. Hang it on your house or on your loungeroom wall.

But you are not any less of a supporter to be flagless. Just more popular with the masses.

The point is, he was only waving the flag at times when there was nothing happening on the field, and the crowd was celebrating the Cowboys scoring.

Even when there is no play there is still stuff happening on the field.

Yeah, the grass is growing at a rate of 1mm per day, don't want to miss it.

Flag waving actually helps the team perform by

1. Sending them secret play signals
2. Determines the direction of the wind for kicking
3. Keeps the flys away

This is the same area that "THE BULLDOGS ARMY" has at telstra stadium & there are hardly any restrictions this year as to sit in that area, you must be registered. I have no problems with my banners & the other army members don have any problems with there big flags. Same at the showground, where we sit behind the goal posts on the hill. If anythinks that these flags are pointless, they look good & add a bit of colour to the crowd.
