I'll go and watch Gold Coast play Newcastle (obviously), and maybe the derby against the Broncos, but I'll still be a Knights fan. I really hope the Gold Coast chooses the Marlins, or failing that, the Pirates (traditional link with their old rep teams). Names like 'Breakers' or Stingers' are really homosexual, and are more befitting of women's netball teams than a team competing in the toughest competition in Australia. I know you could argue that Rabbits and Roosters aren't exactly fierce creatures (unless they get rabies), but both those names are tied in with tradition. I also hope for the sake of their fans that the Gold Coast don't become like the Broncos and sell their fans out, changing their jerseys and their colours at the blink of an eye. If they want to build up an association with their fans, they should keep their jersey unchanged for years like Souths or the Dragons or the Bulldogs, and that will help people identify with them more readily and see how soulless the Broncos are.
