Farah's comments r.e halfback

“I think the fact that I’ve got a genuine No.7 outside me will help my game,” Farah said.

“To be able to play with a genuine seven like Mitchell (Pearce) allows me to concentrate on my game as a nine and do that job to the best of my ability.”

To me that reads as: "I can concentrate on my game because I have a genuine halfback to work off, rather than being forced to play hooker and halfback due to my club coach's insistence on playing without a halfback".

More evidence that Sheens needs to be put out to pasture.

Wow. That's a pretty big swipe at Sheens and his selection/recruitment. This isn't just an off-the-cuff remark. There's something deeper in that.

More comments have been published this morning:

"It's a little different at the Tigers, so it was a change to play with Mitchell Pearce for City," Farah said.

"With that combination I knew my job and stuck to it.

"With respect to the guys who've played at the Tigers, we haven't had a genuine halfback for a while. We've chopped and changed and sometimes I've played first receiver in games."

"Sticky (Stuart) was really honest and told me what I needed to do."

Even our own captain can see it, why can't Sheens???

Only a player revlolt will remove Sheens, or force him to change his tactics. Hopefully Farah has a blinder in Origin to really drive these points home

Farah should threaten to throw his toys out of the pram and bring it to a head imo. The tide of public opinion has turned since the days of 2007 and the `pitchfork wielding mob' who wanted Sheens gone then. I think if it came down to a Mortimer/Ryan type battle between captain and coach that Captain would win in the forum of public opinion and Charlie Sheens would be on his way to the Jetstar terminal and a 1 way ticket back to Townsville.

I really think that this is the last thing our club needs.

Reading quite a bit into his remarks, aren't you? More of an honest reflection that the roster and attacking structure at the Tigers is not what you'd call orthodox. I haven't read anything yet that would have me believe Farah is deeply unhappy about it. I also don't see him offering to take a pay-cut in order to allow a genuine 7 to be brought in to the club. Not that I would expect him to... I'm just sayin'.

The money spent on Blair and Lote this season is where the 7 comes from, it would just about covered cloning Farah, Woods and Moltzen.

Farah's in 9 and 7, Woods's as props and the second Moltzen to the Dragons, both live with Marshall though.

If Lui wasn't a lowlife, we'd have a genuine halfback playing for us this year. A halfback that took us to two top four finishes, and what should have been two preliminary finals; the players let themselves down against the Warriors in 2011.

Could've easily been a grand final in 2010 too.

I find Sheens extremely frustrating, and I think he is stale. A little bit of even handedness from some of you wouldn't go astray though.

I agree.

Also to be fair to Sheens he was playing Lui at 7 over Moltzen presumably because he wanted a more structured half.
Ha! Maybe I'm reading into it what I want to read into it:)

But I think it's quite significant when your captain comes out with pretty open criticism of where he believes there are flaws in the recruitment and management of his team and that is pointed directly at Sheens.

Its pretty clear that he said Wests Tigers don't have a genuine halfback.

what more can be read into that?

I think that a lot of people on here are assuming it is a dig at Sheens. I don't think that it is a dig at Sheens.

Well who is responsible for the club not having a genuine halfback?

It's not reading into anything, it's very clearcut.

Stevie Wonder could read between these lines and see clearly what Farah is getting at.
