you mean "in pieces" because when Hame Lauaki gets hold of him tomorrow night, thats all that will be left..

You just don't get it do you? Thick as a brick seems like a good likeness.

We don't give a sh*t about whether the game turns out to be a win or a loss in the end, because our season is over anyway.

All we care about is sending our departing players off, and showing them how appreciative we are of everything they have given to the club and the fans.

Your pathetic attempts to continue to harass us are a waste of your time, but even more importantly.........OURS

FTR, i think gower is a fantastic footballer, very underated.

I dont like what he's done to the codes image though.

Glad that's cleared up and you've admitted that he is a great footballer.

Whilst I disagree with you on what he's done to the code's image, because there are players who have been proven to be in the wrong with incidents and Gowie has NEVER been charged in any instance that you and others have brought up, I am happy to agree to disgree.

I won't wish you luck for tomorrow night, because in my heart I don't want you to spoil our party, but I do wish you and your team luck in the finals because I enjoy the brand of footy you guys play.

Gowie - 12 seasons with the club.

While we have had many great players to wear our colours there are not that many who have who have achieved what Gowie has achieved over such a long period.

I note some who have posted here on LU and elsewhere on PI make the observations about his being a great player BUT..................The offfield indiscretions..................

What were those off field indiscretions that darken an otherwise great career?

For mine, if the truth be known, they were largely a media beat up. His greatest alleged alcohol related indiscretion involved Wayne Pearce's daughter while perhaps unacceptable was largely fuelled by Dawn Fraser? What does that say when you take into account Dawn's well documented issues in her younger days.

Craig Gower is a knockaround Aussie bloke and there were a handful of occasions over a long period of time where the demon drink perhaps got the better of him. 90% of knockaround Aussie blokes have committed the same indiscretions and worse each and every day but they are loveable rouges because they are not in the media spotlight.

Tommorrow evening come about 9.20pm as I watch Gowie take his bows on his last walk around CUA wearing my beloved Panthers colours will be a very, very sad occasion.

Gowie's final bow should have been in season 2011 having completed well over 300 first grades games for the club, but alas the disgraceful behaviour of some sections of the media ensured this was not possible.

Here, here!

Love him, or hate him. I rate him along side Brandy as our best ever in terms of ability, guts and leadership. Of course, I have always rated Jarrod Sammut in other areas, but that's a matter for another thread.

My personal opinion on Gower aside, the man is a club legend, and I'll be there tomorrow night to see him off. He deserves a send off of great magnitude, given the service he has given to the club.

It's come far too soon he should have finished his career as having played the most top grade game for the panthers by a long way.

The night didnt go as planned, but there was still plenty of us there to say farewell.

The tribute was pretty similar to what I linked too of still shots. There was a lot of video footage of him playing throughout his many years, maybe that's what they were eluding to.

I'm sorry I missed catching up with amanda and craig for a drink last night, the hour and half long drive home with a lack of sleep the night before caved me in.

When he eventually comes back, I really hope he can put the past behind and dive into a coaching capacity role. He would make a great Coach one day.

No humble pie needs to be eaten...Craig Gower is STILL a champion player and has been for the Panthers for the last 12 years. That is the whole idea of this thread you fool...

Well I thought it was about Gower.

And the thread shouldnt be ruined by half-wits snarling about their sides lucky win.

Its the height of bad sportsmenship, the stupid fugging tool.

Craig Gower has played his last game for the Penrith Panthers.

My bet is that he would have easily traded all the accolades he's got over the years for a single win last night.

His contribution to the Panthers was unmatched.

He is a genuine hero.

Gowie, along with many other players were obviously tired, sore and I'd suggest a bit thirsty, and took the time to spend an hour or so doing the slow walk around CUA saying goodbye to as many fans as he possibly could.

I know this sounds very selfish, but I sort of hope he doesn't like France and doesn't like ra ra and comes back to the Pennys.

Yes, I expected the Panthers to win as well.

It was a surprise loss.
